International Box Day!

Once again it's one of our favorite days.....INTERNATIONAL BOX DAY!! Maggy and Zoey from Zoolatry proclaimed today as the 3rd Annual International Box Day. We absolutely love this event. Isn't this graphic that the Zoolatry human made for International Box Day great?

We would like to share some of our favorite box photos with you today!

Ellie knows you might have to move around a bit to make the box purrfectly suited to your size.


Here's a young Tamir showing off one of his favorite boxes! He liked this one because he could be the tall, stately ManCat in it.

Sometimes Tamir gets a little confused about his size...

Angel Sniffie loved boxes. She claimed this blue one for her own once and would defend it from anycat.
Sometimes Ellie and Allie get into a smackdown over boxes!!

Mom says she has eleventy billion photos of Allie in boxes! Allie decided that "double boxed" was the way to go in this photo!


Even Cousin Trooper loves boxes! He knows good things come in boxes!!

Wordy Wednesday - a sweet award

Our pal Willow gave us a pawsome award!!!

We're supposed to list 7 things about ourselves and then pass it along to 15 other bloggers.

We know you know a lot about us, but we're hoping we've come up with a few you didn't know!!

1. Tamir loves to be groomed and even doesn't mind when it's time for clippy claws.

2. We have very special litterboxes. Mom says they look like they are on "life support" because they vent outside. Mom used to sell them and they are great. Unfortunately, the company went out of business.

3. Allie loves our 40 paws Ham-micks. She'll go from one to the other at night while Mom watches TV.

4. Cubby and Clifford went to the Halloween Howl at the Dog park a couple of years ago. They were dressed as Peanut Butter and Jelly. They won for noisiest dogs and Mom was too embarrassed to go back the next year.


5. Sometimes Ellie looks cross eyed in her pictures. She isn't but the flashy box makes it look that way. Another reason to dislike the flashy box!

6. Angel Sniffie loved her green froggy. After a lot of loving it disappeared and Mom couldn't find replacements. She found them again about two years ago and bought a couple of them. Mom found the bag of extras last week and it made her all leaky eyed.


7. Mom and Dad both spend too much a lot of time online. They shop, sell, and play games. In fact, they found each other online!!!

We hope you enjoyed our answers! We know that a few of our friends have already done this so we're asking anycat or woofie who hasn't to try it! It was fun going down memory lane for some of our answers!

Last week I got to go out to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant with Mom and some of her friends!

Flashback Femme Friday with Sniffie

Thankful for great pals!

Hi effurycat, Tamir here! I had a great Adventure yesterday! My Mom and I got to meet our pal Ginger Jasper and his Mom and Dad and Max the Quilt Cat and his Mom. Mom says you can click the photos to bigify.

Here we are outside the restaurant. They're kidding with this sign, right???

We had a blast! It's so nice to be out with other ManCats (even if they are a bit flat).
Unfortunately, the Zoolatry Human was not feeling well and missed our get together. We hope to meet her one day soon.

A note from the Mom: I had a great time meeting GJ's parents and Max's Mom and, of course, Flat GJ and Flat Max! The time flew by and I hope we can get together again someday! We were sorry that Ann couldn't make it. I hope to meet other bloggers one day soon!! Thanks so much to GJ's Mom and to Max's Mom for the great gifts too.

Oh. My. Bast! For a long time our pal Sammy from Meezer Tails has been warning us about the Alien invasion. For the first time we spotted a couple across the street!!!

Sad Tuesday - we lost a good woofie friend

We've replaced our original photo with this wonderful badge that KC posted on the Cat Blogosphere!

We recently lost a good woofie friend, Abby. Many of you will remember our post of Cousin Trooper and Abby that we did in 2009. Abby has had many health problems over the years, and it was finally her time to make the journey to the Bridge.

We would like to share a little more of Abby's story:

Abby was a Black and Tan Coonhound. Her Mom met a good friend of hers who was showing her Coonhound, Hannah at a local dog show. That led to Libby and Dazey, the 4th of July girls!

Libby and Dazey's Dad and Hannah got together and had a litter. One of them was Abby. Abby and Sluggo were the "picks" of the litter and went to the breeder. After a while, Abby's Mom's friend sensed something was wrong and drove across the state to rescue Abby and Sluggo In 1999 after Abby had been living with someone who had too many dogs Abby went back to her Mom's friend. She had already had a bath, but was still pretty sad looking when her new "Mom-to-be" met her and was a bag of bones with a dirty collar. She put her head on her new Mom's lap and didn't leave. Her Mom-to-be said no no no and left...perhaps to come back the next day. She did. Abby put her head on new Mom's lap, she went home with her, went right into the tub and that was the start of their wonderful journey.

One word for Abby...a couch potato. She loved the cooler weather, was curious about the beach, liked the big dogs...not so much the little ones. She loved to sample everything that her Mom was cooking and requested ice cubes with her water. :)

Everybody loved Abby. On holidays, she would come over to our part of the state and stay with Auntie El and Cousin Trooper. Cousin Trooper loved Abby! She was a sweet, quiet girl. She was so lucky to have found the perfect Mom who had the patience to work through so many of Abby's health issues and to give her such a wonderful life after such a rocky start. We know Mom Lynn will miss Abby but we also know that Abby will live on in her heart and in the hearts of those who knew her.
