ManCat Monday with Cousin Trooper
Hi furriends, Cousin Trooper here. I want to tell you a story about how much I love my Mommy.
The other night Mommy was sleeping and she felt me quietly jump up on the bed, move around a bit and then leave. She just continued to sleep until she felt something next to her hand. She didn't want to get up and thought that it was me. It wasn't.......
I brought her a really nice present! A GIANT Palmetto bug!! For those who don't know what a Palmetto bug is click HERE (unless you're squeamish!)
Please keep Mommy in your purrs and prayers. She's having a colonoscopy tomorrow.
Thank you! Cousin Trooper

Hat Day Comment-a-thon
Our pal Mr. Pip from Mr Pip Gets Back in the Game has issued a proclamation:
We officially declare Wednesday, August 24th, Hat Day! If you would like to participate, please post your hatted picture with a link back to SAS. We also hope you will join us in hosting a comment-a-thon on your blog that day. It is up to each blogger to decide how much to donate per comment, but remember every little bit helps! For those who aren't able to contribute financially, please show your support for Miss Judi and family by posting your hatted picture and encouraging your followers to make a donation. There is a Chip In button right on their blog.
In support, we're re-posting our great hat pics today! We will also donate 50 cents for every comment we get today!
Look at US! Didn't Sammy Andy and Shelly make us look extra purrty??? We're including Angel Sniffie's hat picture because she was still with us when we were hatted!

Thanks for commenting today. We hope to get lots of comments so we can send SAS lots of green papers!!

Fly Free Miss Peach and It's Cat Talk Time!!!
One of our very first blogging friends, Miss Peach, went to the Bridge yesterday. Like Allie, Miss Peach liked to sleep in fun places, like a frying pan! Run free sweet ladycat. We know our Sniffie was there to meet you as well as so many other friends we have lost in the last year. We will miss you. Purrs and prayers to Mom Karla, LapDaddy and Cole. We loved you little lady!

Our Pals Maggy and Zoey at Zoolatry have declared today to be Cat Talk Time!
Cats are very expressive. And in our years of pet blogging, we've found that theirhumans are very expressive, too! So we're putting out a challenge to one and all, just a furry-fun event, for Tuesday August 23 ~ on your blog, just post your favorite, clever, old, new, unusual, humorous cat talk. We were recently introduced to some new cat talk ~ "whisker humps". Of course, there's "tail wags", and "chin scritches"and so many more. And when it comes to the humans, well ... we've heard beans, and bipeds, and food purrsons. And let's not forget the famous MOL. So, that's theCat Talk Time Challenge ~ get wordy, creatively wordy ~ and if you can show a photo that goes with your "talk", that's even better! No prizes, no awards, just a whole lotta fun.
We've learned lots of new expressions since we started blogging! All of the above mentioned Cat speak expressions were new to us plus a couple more. Two of our favorites are Biggify (as in click to make the picture larger)
If you BIGGIFY this picture, you can see Allie's pink tongue!
and Crabilated....as in Ellie is really CRABILATED that these wires are in her favorite napping spot.
Tamir's favorite is fev-ver....as in this FEV-VER is tasty! You can see his pink tongue if you BIGGIFY :)Our woofie (another!) brofur's (one more!) Cubby and Clifford have a few favorites too.
They like chick-hen, BOL and Barkday!!
We can't wait to see what all of our other furriends (hey, that's one too!) have picked as their favorites.

Whisker Hump Wednesday - a tribute to Kismet
The Cat Blogosphere has declared today THE FIRST WHISKER HUMP WEDNESDAY IN TRIBUTE TO KISMET.
In tribute to the original Big Mancat, Kismet, we are offishully declaring Wednesday to be Whisker Hump Wednesday. Kismet originated the term Whisker Humps and had the real thing to back it up. His were the standard against which all others were and will forever be measured. The idea for Whisker Hump Wednesday came from Teri and the cats of Curlz and Swirlz as posted in the comments on Skeezix’s Eulogy for the Big Dude. It was immediately seconded by Skeezy, thirded byMax, and I, KC, am announcing it to the entire CB.
So this Wednesday, and every Wednesday from here on, bring on the Whisker Humps in honor of The Greatest Big Mancat, Kismet. ~KC

Thank you Thursday
Hi Everyone, Ellie here.
I really want to say a big THANK YOU for all the purrs, prayers and woofs. Mom was really worried about me and the support of the Cat Blogosphere is amazing. I'm feeling great! I'm back to being myself! Mom says I'm a bit spoiled but I think she knows I always have been. After all, when you're Daddy's Little Girl, you deserve to be treated extra special. I really appreciate how my big brofur Tamir watches over me too. He's such a good ManCat!
Thank you again! I love you all!!!

Washin' Wednesday - Space Coast Kibble Kitchen
On Sunday Mom went to a great fundraising event! It was a Car Wash to benefit the Space Coast Kibble Kitchen.

The Space Coast Kibble Kitchen is a Non-profit organization that helps people in need keep their pets. The Pet Food Bank's mission is to help people from having to surrender their pets to shelters or abandon them. We think the work they do is so wonderful! They are helping pets and their owners!!
Here are some of the workers washing a mini-van...
There was a donation table set up. As you can see, a few people had already been there.
Here they are working on Mom's car...
Another view. Boy was her car dirty when she brought it but it was sparkling clean when she left.
"Lets Fill the Bowls Together"
You can read more about this organization HERE. Mom hopes to set up a donation drive where she works this December.

Tired Tuesday with Toes
Hi furriends, Ellie here.

3rd Annual World Cat Day!!!
Let us all celebrate ~ World Cat Day!
Celebrate kitties in your own special way. Those here and near, and those now above, all the kitties so dear, all the kitties we love.
First we want to remember our sweet sister Sniffie. Mom looked at our last year's post for World Cat Day and it was the same week she found the lump on Sniffie's back. We miss our wonderful little girl and we hope you don't mind that we continue to keep her on our blog on Fridays.
We are re-cycling some of last year's World Cat Day post because we really wanted to honor those who came before again.
We don't want this to be a sad post - it's a celebration of some of the furry cool kitties Mom has known!Cory was Sniffie's littermate...
Uriel - our first Birman. Uriel was a red point and was a sweetie! Uriel would give a Paws Up to World Cat Day!!
Tabriz - Mom's Flame Point Himalayan watching over little Baschert.
Mom's first Himalayan - Khartoum. Khartoum was Tabriz's daddy. Mom says she was WAY TOO tan in this picture and had on some VERY intense eyeshadow! We say she was WAY younger too!!
We hope you didn't mind seeing those who came before again. Mom promised each one of them (and us too) that they would always be with her. Each one of these special kitties has a purrty urn and they are all part of our home. Many thanks to Ann of Zoolatry for the wonderful graphic for World Cat Day.
UPDATE ON ELLIE:
Please continue your purrs and prayers. She is still "punky" and doesn't have much appetite. She ate a little bit for Daddy 2 times yesterday and a smidge for Mom last night. She did jump in the window to watch Bird-Tv today, but she's really not herself.

Not so Easy Sunday with Ellie
Hi Everyone, Ellie here.
Late Friday night and early yesterday morning I wasn't feeling good. I had a bad tummy ache and was making bomit all over the house. Mom thought I was better yesterday morning, but then I bomitted again and she immediately called the V-E-T. He gave me a good exam and said all my vital signs were good but my temp was a tiny bit elevated. I had goobers (highly technical medical term) on my nose and he suggested I get poked 3 TIMES!!! One poke was to give me fluids even though my hydration level wasn't too bad. He was concerned because it was a weekend coming up. The second was Convenia for my nose goober problem and the third was Cerenia to stop the bomits. Boy was I glad to get out of there!! It was nice seeing our friend Cheryl, but let Mom get poked next time!!!!!! I have two half pills to take and we hope that takes care of everything.
Mom Sharon here......
As you can imagine, I was a panicked Mom yesterday. I could picture us running to the ER with Ellie on Sunday if we didn't do something right away. She's a bit punky now, but she hasn't vomited since 10am Saturday. Even worse was the fact that I was working on our World Cat Day post and saw that last year on August 8 I had just found the lump on Sniffie. I had horrible visions of repeating last year, only with Ellie this time. Please keep my little girl in your prayers. She's Daddy's little girl, but she knows I love her a lot too.
