Shopping Around The World - Poetic Thankful Thursday

Today is Shopping Around the world with our pal Bacon from PigLove.  This month's edition is being hosted by our pals Angel Sammy and Teddy from Two Spoiled Cats.

From Angel Sammy and Teddy's  Blog:
We invite you to join us on FRIDAY, AUGUST 31st for SHOPPING AROUND THE WORLD – right here on our blog – but you will still LINK to Bacon’s blog HERE.     What is the theme for this month????

SNACKS!

What does that mean?   It means when you want a little something different than ripping open a bag of chips at night as you watch TV or even if people stop by unexpectedly and you need to make something yummy and QUICK – WHAT IS THAT??????   A special dip?   A plate of gourmet cheeses?   Whacked up fruit with some kind of sweet yogurt/honey sauce?   Yep – watching TV with a bag of chips on your tummy is fine and dandy (and Mom and Dad do that too sometimes!) but then there’s other times when that just doesn’t “MAKE IT”……….so please share your recipe for a special snack you like OK?    If you can show us a photo of it – GRAND…………but one thing we ask you ALL to do is tell us what this fabulous snack of yours COSTS to make?   Tell us the recipe with ingredients and the cost of each thing.    It’s a “SHOW AND TELL OF FOOD” !!!    So I’ll see you Friday right???
Our recipe is a super easy peasy one that Dad has made for years.   He calls it Spiegelhalter Dip.

Not a photo of ours but this is what it looks like.

2 packages cream cheese - $4.28

2 Tablespoons milk - $1.89/ half gallon

2 Tablespoons Worchestershire sauce - $3.98/10 ounces

Garlic power to taste - we always have this on hand so we're not pricing it out)

Chopped  onion (we like Vidalia) - $1.69/lb

Add cream cheese, milk, Worcestershire and garlic powder to bowl and beat until creamy.  Add chopped onion and mix thoroughly.....enjoy with your favorite dipper!

Today is also  Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats and

 Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Today's letter is "L" and the prompt words are

(1) Lamb (2) Love (3) Lap (4) Lunch

Our poem is titled

Lunch

Our tummies are rumbling and we have a hunch
It must be time for our lunch!
We Love to have our tasty noms
Even yummy Lamb is the bomb!
After we eat we'll take a nap
And it will be in Mom's LAP!

Please keep the purrs and prayers going for our Daddy.
