ManCat Monday - The Blessing of the Pets

Hi everyone, Tamir here! Yesterday I was enjoying our Easy Like Sunday nap when I was pulled up and stuck in the P-T-U with my sisfur Allie.....

Ellie was also stuck in a P-T-U of her own......Why did I have to share? Ellie and Allie make hissy face when they are in a cage together. ManCats like me end up sharing...and Allie doesn't share much...notice how she gets the primo spot looking out?
We all got into the big metal machine and drove miles and miles...maybe a gazillion miles to Mom and Dad's Church....
Here we are in front of the Shrine for the Blessed Mother. Now, you probably wonder what we were doing at church...

Today is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi who is the patron saint of animals. We were there to be blessed! Here's a video Mom took of all of the pets being blessed. We were the very last ones so you have to go all the way through to see us. There were turtles, woofies and a bun there too. Mom says we're all very well behaved now! Let's see how long THAT lasts!!

  11. Oh goodness you were so well behaved - mum would never take us anywhere like that because we would shriek like crazy. She says a short trip to the stabby place is a short trip too far with us!!

  12. They do that here too, at St. George's Anglican Cathedral. But our mom would never take us, we boys howl piteously in the carrier and Annie freezes in terror. None of us ever would be calm enough to do that. You are lucky--well, you are blessed! :-)

  19. How cool to see everyone getting blessed! You three were sooo good about it, too. Tabby and our now-angel Sara Kitty went one year. Mommy had a birthday party to go to in the afternoon, so we didn't get to go this year.

  21. We think that was really cool!

None of us has been online cuz Momma has been buzy with 'things'...we don't know what's more important than us, but....we just read through your posts and we wanted to say that some people with no compassion don't understand that losing one of our furry babies is just as painful as losing any family member. Momma has had people say things to us that were cruel when she lost furry babies, so she understood.

  22. Oh, "St. Francis of Assisi " So that's how he's called in English, In Spanish, the name is similar "San Francisco de Asis"...

I'll try to go to the church next year, I don't have a P-T-U, and some say it's scary to be inside one, I don't know...

  23. How wonderful. Mum took us two for our blessing when we were young kittens. Then she tooks our sausage of a pug brother for his blessing just a couple of years ago. Mum and Dad get really emotional at the part when they say a pray for animals no longer with us. Mum usually starts bawling. We luved the video of you being blessed. And you were so well behaved too!
