The day was originally started by The Cat Realm in 2007. Here’s what they said:

August 5th to be NOMS Day, a new international public holiday! Details at our blog; we hope you will celebrate with us! Today we are celebrating Noms Day, a holiday to remember that all beings are equal, to remind ourselves to be tolerant towards everybody, to reach out across species, cultures, nationalities, religions, languages, beliefs and appearances and to come together and embrace our differences We have a few NOMS friends"
We have loads of friends that are not our species....today we're featuring a little guy that's living behind the clock on our back porch............he's a FROG!
Mom calls him Jeremiah and she sings some silly song about him being a Bullfrog and having some mighty fine wine............we think she's a very strange NOMS Mom!!!

ReplyDeleteWe have froggie friends, too, but they live on the other side of the glass. They are look-but-don't touch friends, much to our disappointment. Does that count?

ReplyDeleteWhat a cool frog! We have a big toad that comes on our front porch sometimes. We also have a couple of rats (not the gross kind - the cute, house-pet looking kind) that live in our back yard. We love our NOMS friends! Thanks for sharing about Jeremiah.

We dont have a NOMS friend who is a frog. But TBT remembers a toad who used to come to the big picture pindow ta eat moths that came at night. He and Kenani (a 1960s cat) used to sit on opposite sides of the glass sort of friendly-like.

ReplyDeleteAaaaw Him's so cute. Weez hav sum fwoggys outside tu, but they don't sit still long nuff tu get fotos of. Or at least not long nuff fur mommy tu get da camewa, turn it on and point and focus and shoot. All dat takes 'bout 15 minutes. MOL
