Manatee Monday

Manatees don't like the cold and very often come visit our area.  They like the small, warmer canals.  There's a park close to use that gets many manatees and is a great spot to see the up close.  You aren't allowed to actually touch or feed them....

They are big, gentle creatures!

Usually the water isn't this clear.

This is the way they get into the canal...

Someone sent Dad this video.  It was taken by a drone (no, Dad didn't take it with HIS drone!)

We hope you enjoyed seeing our big, gentle giant friends!

  2. Holy cat! That's a lot of manatees! The head peep has seen the manatees at Crystal River, but there weren't so many in a concentrated place, even the very cold morning she was there. What an amazing sight!

  17. That is absolutely so incredible. Mom says she's only seen a few manatees at any one time. Did Mom Sharon and Dad Bill ever go see one of these big groups in person? Amazing. Thanks for sharing. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo including lots of kisses and love for Allie from Mau
