We decided to take Sammy on a tour of the Space Coast of Florida where we live. Sammy has actually been here once before in the Flat. Here he is in a photo with Raz, Allie, Madi, Anya and Gracie in a Cat Scouts traveling Flats project.
While he was here in the Flat he expressed a desire to try surfing. He didn't get to try surfing in the Flat but we had a surprise for him. Pro surfers Damian and CJ Hobgood are from here so they gave him a lesson.....we think Sammy did really well for his first time out.....
After a great morning of surfing, we stopped at Lil Dos - a popular local Mexican restaurant here. They were thrilled when they heard the famous Sammy was coming!
After lunch, we headed up to the Kennedy Space Center. We were really impurressed when we saw that they TOO had a welcome sign out for Sammy....
After touring for a while, we headed over to the Atlantis expedition. The space shuttle Atlantis is homed here.
We spent lots of time looking at Atlantis.....ut oh........SAMMY! You can't nap up there!!!
We hated to see the day end, but we knew Sammy had other places to visit. We made one more stop at the beach (we THINK he wanted to get back in the sand!)
Sammy, we loved having you visit and we love YOU. You know how much you mean to us.

ReplyDeleteMOLMOLMOL THE PHOTO OF SAMMY SURFING IS A CLASSIC AND WILL GO DOWN IN THE HISTORY BOOKS. I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER HEARD OF OR SEEN ANOTHER CAT SURFING. Oh I do remember the Scout trip to your beach Raz...such a joyous time and OMCS who knew you had such a 'large sand/litter box'.

ReplyDeleteI know Sammy had to have loved all that flying space thing. The Atlantis is cool! And surfing too! He made some wonderful visits and made us all happy to have a visit with him. I miss him.
