Poetic Thankful Thursday

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

Today's photo prompt is:

Gone Fishing!

I remember when I was a little one
Grandpa would take me fishing and we'd have fun.
Not on a river or a lake
A trip to the ocean we would make.
Early in the morning, we'd head to the boat
Fishing gear and sandwiches we'd tote.
He taught me how to hook the bait
Then we'd cast our lines and wait!

When Mom was a little girl she really did go deep-sea fishing with her Grandpa.
It was a special time for the two of them and she has great memories of those days.

Today is also Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

We are thankful that Mom was the ONLY Firstie on Teddy's Tuesday Teaser!  That's never happened before!!  We got this super-duper special badge!

We're also THANKFUL for our many friends who left nice comments on our Tuesday post remembering our Daddy on the 4th anniversary of his going to Heaven.  You are the BEST!

  4. Ahh, now we know there was a picture related to several post now. We miss such things sometimes...

    But we'll add:

Give a person a fish and they will eat for a day.
Teach them to fish and they will spend
A fortune in equipment and lures to say
I caught a fish; and it only did end
With far less amount of cash,
\Sso I should have just bought
    Filet Mignon and fancy wine
    And had myself a Bash!

    MOL!

  5. I'd have great memories, too if anybody ever took me fishing..but, I know I'd get so excited, I'd jump into the water after them and that's not good! Meow!

  6. Excellent poem!
I've been trying to convince The Hubby that he should get his fishing license and go fishing, so he can feed the cats.
It's been years, and he's not taken the bait...hehehe.

  11. What a dear, sweet memory poem......I'm happy to see that MANY of us had special "gone fishing" moments with family or friends in our lives - those are GREAT memories to have! Thanks for participating in Angel Sammy's poetry fun. We will always miss Bill - I wish I'd had a chance to meet him in person but I DID feel like I knew him. He had a big heart and I know he loved his life with you and the cats. I bet he has a BIG SMILE since you got Reesie! :)

    Hugs, Pam

  14. Congrats to Mom Sharon on being the only firstie this week. That’s hard to do these days. Our mom and Mom Sharon seemed to have the same experience with fishing, only Mom Sharon liked and it and our mom hated it. Mom Sharon did a great job with her poem. Sawyer sends the lovely Noelle a bajillion whisker kisses and oodles of love.
