Poetic Thankful Thursday

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

Today's photo prompt is

The Bingo Ladies

They come every week
Bingo is not for the meek.
You'd better pay attention
Waiting for one number causes tension
After a while, you learn the lingo
You don't want to mistakenly yell Bingo.

Mom remembers going to Bingo with her Mom and her Nana.  The die-hard players had a ton of cards
and were very serious about the game.  They had no patience for beginners.  Plus, in those days, there was a ton of smoke in the bingo hall.

Today is also Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Today we are THANKFUL for all the beautiful Birmans that we have shared our lives with.  Birmans have color points just like Siamese so, while not officially MEEZERS, they can celebrate today too!
Our newest Furkid, Reesie, is a Chocolate Lynx Point Birman.  Lynx points are also called Tabby Points.  Here is the official CFA description:

CHOCOLATE TABBY POINT: body ivory with little shading. Pale body coat is desirable, preferably free from body markings; however, body shading of light ghost striping toning with the points is acceptable. Points, except for gloves, milk chocolate markings on a light bronze agouti background. Solid markings on the back of the hind legs should be a milk chocolate color, warm in tone. Tail color, with the exception of the rings, should be milk chocolate in color. Nose leather: pink to brick colored outlined in chocolate to tone with the points. A solid color nose leather to tone with the point color is acceptable.

We're very THANKFUL for our beautiful Reesie.

  2. Those ladies sure are serious! LOL!
    Reesie is gorgeous!

All our kitties over the years...6 of them...were 'meezers.! Two seal points, three blue points, and one chocolate point. All but one were mancats, one of the sealpoints was a very opinionated diva!

  3. Cannot remember the last time I played Bingo...could have been when I was in Girl Scouts.
The sour looks on the ladies' faces are funny.

  4. I have enough trouble with one card, so I can't imagine having a whole bunch.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  7. Mom has those same memories and she went with her mother and her aunt. Lots of fun and way too much smoke in the air. But it was always fun to yell BINGO!!!

  10. Excellent poem. You could tell those ladies were serious bingo players. Thanks for telling us about Reesie's coloration. We knew she was different from Allie and Ellie, but didn't know the particulars. Sawyer (who had a seizure today) sends his lovely Noelle oodles of whisker kisses and all his love.
