Photo Hunters - Veterans/Military
This week's theme is Veterans/Military. We're not Veterans but a few years ago we DID Foster a kitty for an Airman from Patrick Air Force Base while he was deployed in Iraq.
Mila was a sweetheart. She was a little bit afraid when she first came to live with us, but by the time she left she was pals with all of us. Mila was with us a little over a year and it was hard to see her leave, but we knew her Daddy loved her a lot. The program that we went through was Operation Noble Foster. It's a great program and Mila's dad was very happy to know that his little girl was taken care of while he was in Iraq. We've visited Mila a few times since he came home since she doesn't live too far from us now.
Mila loved our smaller cat tree. She liked to sleep in between the posts.
She learned to snuggle with all of us...here's a picture of her with Ellie.
Tamir and Mila were super close and he missed her a lot when she left.

Mila looks gorjuss. Do yoo keep in touch? Do yoo get to hear how she is doing? We do hope so.
Mila looks a sweey kitty. It is nice that you can still visit her. That is wonderful that people in the services can go away knowing that their pets are being well cared for.
Oh sweet! Must be tough to be away from her master:)
My PhotoHunt is here.
I have never heard of that program before. It is very cool that you were able to help that way!
What a cool program to participate in!! We've never heard of it before...it musta been nice to have Mila around knowing you were taking care of her for her daddy who was off taking care of our country!!
I've never heard of that program, either, but I think it's wonderful! And what a terrific way to be able to help servicepeople!
Thanks for visiting me, this morning!
What a nice post and a little cat beauty !
Ohhh military cat! So cute! So sad she has to leave but am sure she get the same great love from her daddy. :)
What a wonderful program! If Maggy and Zoey weren't so persnickety (and nasty...) we'd look into doing that with PAFB just down the road.
But, alas, M and Z barely tolerate one another.
Mila is adorable & how great she had a good home. Wonderful post today.
What a wonderful thing for your furmily to do! And Mila looks like such a sweetie-pie! I'm sure you became quite attached to her in that time, and it was hard to let her go -- but you did because you loved her. Great story!
Mila is beautiful. What a nice thing you all did for her bean! We're sure he was so pleased knowing that she was being loved and taken care of!

How furry wonderful that you fostered her. I'll bet that gave her dad great comfort knowing she was safe and loved. Bless you!
That was furry nice of you all to take such good care of Mila while her daddy was away fighting for our country.
What a cute kitty and how nice of your mom to take care of Mila while her dad was in Iraq. So glad he got to come home.
