Flashback Friday

Mom was going through some old photos and found this one of Tamir and our foster kitty Mila.  Mila lived with us for a year while her Daddy was in Afghanistan.  She came to us through Operation Noble Foster.  Mila was a real sweetie and we hated to see her go but we knew her Daddy loved her a lot!

Yes, Tamir is sitting in his PTU.  He's weird like that!!!

UPDATE just before we posted this.....
Mom just got an email from a lady who is taking care of her son's kitty while he's deployed.  Here is what it said:

My son is in the Army Reserves and his unit was called to active duty for 12 months. I have been watching his cat, Lexie, for him. Unfortunately, my roommate sold her house and we have moved and are now living in an apartment that does not allow pets. Lexie is an adorable 4yr old orange and white tabby. She is declawed and spayed. she is very affectionate and playful and my son has had her since she was a kitten. He is crazy about her and I would love to find someone that would be willing to foster her until his gets home in November.

Mom and Dad are going to meet Lexie on Monday and we hope she will like us and come stay with us!

Photo Hunters - Veterans/Military

This week's theme is Veterans/Military. We're not Veterans but a few years ago we DID Foster a kitty for an Airman from Patrick Air Force Base while he was deployed in Iraq.

Mila was a sweetheart. She was a little bit afraid when she first came to live with us, but by the time she left she was pals with all of us. Mila was with us a little over a year and it was hard to see her leave, but we knew her Daddy loved her a lot. The program that we went through was Operation Noble Foster. It's a great program and Mila's dad was very happy to know that his little girl was taken care of while he was in Iraq. We've visited Mila a few times since he came home since she doesn't live too far from us now.

Mila loved our smaller cat tree. She liked to sleep in between the posts.

She learned to snuggle with all of us...here's a picture of her with Ellie.

Tamir and Mila were super close and he missed her a lot when she left.
