Something very unusual is happening at the Space Center. For the first time since 2001, 2 Space Shuttles are on the pad at the same time. (They also said this will probably never happen again) Shuttle Atlantis is to blast off Oct. 10 on a mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. Shuttle Endeavour is targeted for launch Nov. 12 to the International Space Station, but could be used to rescue the Atlantis crew if Atlantis is damaged during launch or in flight.
You can see one Shuttle on the right and one on the left
From a different location…the same two Shuttles
And from a totally different angle. one in the center foreground and the other slightly to its right.
We thought you might enjoy seeing an event that has not occurred very often and probably will not occur again!

Cool. Mom's been to Cape Canaveral. She saw one of the Shuttles being taken out to the launch pad on a really big mover. It goes really slow and take days and days to get it out there. It's very interesting.
We wonder, wud they let us kittys has a party on one of those before it takes off? DAT would be fun to visit the inside of one of those.
That's pretty darn cool!
Those are awesome photos!
What an awesome sight to be able to see in person!
I just read about this the other day but I'm a long way from Florida so thanks for sharing the photos!
