Ellie plans on napping today. We're also going to read Sunday comics with Daisy and participate in Purrs4Peace with Confucius Cat. This week's theme is Prosperity not Poverty.
Mom has a question for our blogging friends. She would like to edit some of our videos with captions, music and other cool stuff. She knows Windows Movie Maker does it, but her videos are .mov and not .avi so they don't work with Movie Maker. She tried a program to convert the movies but it was tricky and now Movie Maker says "cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer" She's done everything it tells her to and keeps getting this message. Is there a similar program that works with .mov videos? Thanks - we want great videos like our pals have.

It sounds like you have a good day planned! I wish we could help with the movie question. We use Windows Movie Maker with our little flip video camera. But I'll bet there is a smart kitty out there who can help!
I've tried to convert some of my movies with Microsoft, but had the same problem. I hope you get some great advice out there that you can share with us.
Our mom is technically challenged when it comes to stuff like that...she uses Movie Maker like your mom and the others...we hope someone can help you out.
Enjoy your comics and the rest of your Sunday!
You could try Quick Media Converter from http://www.cocoonsoftware.com
That way you can convert .mov in .avi or other formats. It works well for me, not that hard to use and is also free.

Ellie looks so comfy.
Mom doesn't know much about movie videos, but she does know that Nero Vision Express can handle .avi format (she has Nero on her computer just cuz she uses it to burn CDs and DVDs in general).
Now that looks like a very comfy spot to spend the day! Mom was at a BBQ yesterday and the people had two birmans. They were gorgeous!
Wow Ellie, you look so comfortable. Makes us want to take a nap. Maybe we will.
I am no help about the video stuff.Wish I could help you.
Have a good day napping Ellie, I'm going to be doing the same and trying to sneak a taste of the Pumpkin Pie my Mommy baked! Love, Moon
Ellie, you look gorgeous as always. That is such a sweet picture of you.
Would like to help you out with the question of the movies but the mom. . .well she know just enough about things to get into a lot of trouble. Sorry.
Love the photo and love the lazy Sunday days.
Mom got a software package "zoombrowser" that came with her camera that she can use to convert the videos, but she gets all confused because she doesn't do it everyday, so she forgets and has to relearn everytime.
Thank you for my Happy Gotcha Day wishes! I love my fur-ever home, my mom makes me feel so safe and secure now.

If you have Vista, I had problems with codecs not working correctly. Compaq told me to download the codecs (all of them in one file) here: http://downloads.phpnuke.org/en/download-item-view-y-a-m-x-z/K-LITE%2BCODEC%2BPACK%2BFULL. htm
I had enough trouble finding a program that would trim a .mpg down! Good luck!!
And Ellie darling, rest away, it's the best thing to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon!
Enjoy your comics! The Woman doesn't use video at all so has no idea how to do that.
Ellie I fink we has da same plans for Sunday! Momma says dat she uses a program called "Any Video Converter" so fars it has worked well for her. Let her knows if dis works, if not den she might has another program for you to try.
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrs
Happy Sunday!
We don't edit/etc my videos -
Maybe we would if we didn't have 1,234,567,890 blogs to visit!

Ellie, you look like a pretty floofy pillow laying like that! Have a great Sunday!
Our mommy is technologically challenged so can't help you. Sorry.
Hi Ellie, you look so sweet and cuddly.
Ellie, you look just wonderful and so comfy.
Now that is a purrfect purrs4peace picture there Ellie. I don't have one of those moving picture things yet, but I'll be checking for the answers too.
Ellie, you look so cozy during your nap.
Love,
Teddy Bear
What a comfortable floof!
We're afraid we can't help much with an answer to your movie question (our movies record in .avi already), and hope some of the info above helped. But The Mommy did want to say thanks for the question itself and for the mention of Movie Maker -- she's been wanting to know how to add captions and stuff, and didn't even realize she had that program on the 'puter! MOL She's a little challenged, too...
Lovely photo of Miss Ellie!
Purrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
