Sniffie is an Angel

Nirmanakaya's Viandra
aka "Sniffie"
7/14/1998 - 9/21/2010

Mom can't stop crying. We know she loves all of us, but Sniffie and Tamir have been with her for so long and Sniffie was such a special girl.

The love and support of the Cat Blogosphere has meant so much to us through her surgery, recovery and the awful ultrasound and diagnosis. Sniffie really started to go downhill over the weekend. Mom and Dad were syringe feeding her and Monday was the first time they could tell she wasn't happy. Monday night Sniffie's breathing got harder and Mom and Dad knew it was time. When they gave her the first shot to relax her, Mom could tell she was already gone. Mom kept holding her and telling her how much she loved her and that we will always keep her with us. Sniffie took a big piece of Mom's heart with her when she went to the Bridge. We know her sister Cory was waiting there to greet her. Sniffie will be cremated and she will always be with us.

Many thanks to KC for this lovely graphic for Sniffie.
We will try to visit our pals when we can. Mom has blog posts scheduled already so our blog will continue with them until Mom gets Sniffie's Memorial Post ready. She's having a hard time picking photos because she wants Sniffie's purrsonality to shine through.

Mom has also started a Candle Group for Sniffie. If you click on this link you can light a virtual candle for her Candles for Sniffie
Luxor's Mom told us about this site.
Again, Thank You All! We love you!

We are all so sad and sorry to hear Sniffie has gone, but we are thankful you were brave enough and loved her enough to ensure yoo listened when she told you she was ready to go.
Letting go of a beloved pet when the time is right, is the greatest gift of all, and also the most heartbreaking to bestow.
Our hearts go out to you because we know how very special Sniffie was and is ~ and will always be. ((((((((hugs)))))))

  18. So sad to lose Sniffie. She was a beautiful cat and my heart goes out to you. I remember how bad I felt when my dad's cats died and my first cat Moe. I found a nice cat memorial website and sent in all their pictures which were posted. Here's the link: http://www.memoriesofourpets.co.uk/page_807322.html (Mine were the first ones in fact)

The catblogosphere will miss Sniffie very much. At least now whe is free from pain.

There are no words than can make your sadness any less but know that you are in our hearts, thought, and prayers as you all go through this loss. Sniffie was certainly a sweetie pie and forever that sweetie will be free of illness and together with those that were waiting to run and play the whole day long. Sniffie will never be far from you as you have the years of memory and happiness to lean on when you think of her.

  65. Well we just wrote a five page comment and stuped blogger gave us an error message so it got lost in bloggie land. That pisses me off becuase I was crying just writing to you...

It wasnt even 7 months ago that I lost Theodore and I still cry for him at least 3 nights a week. Plz know he is up there protecting Sniffie, and now they each have a friend there too! They are waiting for us to come now...

Until we do, I know there is very little you can do to comfort yourself from such grief. Believe me, I tried everything from meditation to journaling to crying it out to screaming curse words toward the sky.
Sometimes it helped, other times it just made me angrier that the evil Cancer monster is so obsessed with MY family. Why ME? why US? I couldn't figure it out.
I finally stopped trying to figure it out...
but you bet your bottom dollar that I carry Theodore's old collar charm and the tuft of fur the vet gave me everywhere I go...
