Toes Tuesday with Allie

Did you know that Birmans wear gloves?

From Wikipedia: "The Birman's coat is unusual due to the white 'gloves' on each paw. They are one of the few cat breeds in the colourpoint coat that has fingers and toes in pure white colour. The genetics of this feature may not be not fully clear, though a gene conferring the white 'gloves' has been identified."

Allie thinks her gloves are nice for snoozing on!

  3. We have never been able to figure out if Boodie is a Birman or Ragdoll mix because she has the gloves, but she is very badly marked for a Birman.

We are sending lots and lots of purrs to Auntie El. I feel so badly that she has to go through this.

  12. Allie, we know all about the Birman gloves! To tell you a Birman story you might enjoy ... before we came to live with our beans, Momma told Daddy she wanted a Birman. He thought she said Burmese and couldn't find any in St. Louis. He did find a Siamese (which sounded like Burmese), me Sabrina, and then proceded to find me Sam and then me Simon, so that is how us Meezers all came to live with them. Hope you enjoyed our story!
