Friday with Allie

Hi furriends, Allie here.  As some of you who are on Facebook know, I had to go to the VET yesterday.

Hey Mom.........why am I in this PTU in your car???

OH NO!!!!!  Don't stop HERE!!!

Please have mercy....let me OUT OF HERE!!

Hey Cheryl, I really like you but.....you're going to put that WHERE????

Holy Carp!  I'm OUT OF HERE!!

Mom Sharon here.....
Allie did have a VET visit yesterday.  On Wednesday afternoon she spent about an hour walking all over the house howling and yowling and sounding really pitiful.   She quieted down and Mom went to choir practice and got home about 9 pm.  Allie jumped up on the bed and proceeded to paw on the bedspread.  Since Allie is the queen of Machine Paw, I didn't think too much of it until I looked again and saw a giant wet puddle.

I put Allie and Ellie in our big cage with food, water and litter box to monitor them.  Nothing strange happened but I was worried.  At 3:45 yesterday we went to the VET (3 weeks in a row on Thursday...I'm going to skip Thursday next week.)

From all of her actions and the fact that she shows no symptoms of UTI, we think it's behavioral.  Allie and Tamir were buddies.  She loved to bite his ears and play with his tail and they both slept together on the bed (in the spot she went on).  We'll still monitor for UTI but we think she's okay.  I sent for refills for my Feliway diffusers and for the spray.  We think she's just missing our special ManCat.

Thanks for all the purrs and prayers...........I really didn't need this right now.....

One nice thing....we didn't make it to the Blessing of the Pets and I got this nice email from Deacon Mike who did the blessing:

""Hi Meow meow's mommie....Your kittys were a part of the blessing ceremony...the kittys were mentioned and I asked for prayers for them...So you and the kittys were there in spirit....Thanks for all you do"

That made me leaky eyed, in a good way!

Mom Sharon

  9. Poor Allie, we are sending you lots of rumbly purrs to help you feel better after the shock of losing your lovely bro' Tamir. Some Cystease or Cystaid in your food might help your bladder cope with the stress, it helps us. We hope you feel better really soon.

Thank you so much for your kind words to us on the loss of Oliver, they have really helped us with the shock

  11. I was thinking that Allie was missing our guy, Tamir. It will, as with us, take a while and things will get better for her. She will alway love him. I am glad that the girls were part of the blessings yesterday. How nice to get an email, I know this had to make all feel happy.

  12. Poor Allie. It must be so hard missing your buddy, Tamir. It's hard for us kitties to understand these things. Keeping our paws crossed and purring your stress levels get better. (((hugs)))

  13. Sharon, we're glad there was no sign of a UTI.

Have you tried the Vetri-Science Composure treats? They might help, always worth a shot. Or even the Zylkene I sometimes use with Derry.

Good luck, we hope Allie will be okay.

  16. We are purring for Allie and hope she won't do that again - it must be the upset of Tamir not being there with her. How kind for Deacon Mike to include you all in the Pet Blessing.

  26. Well, we are glad she doesn't have a UTI, but it is tough to be missing your pal. Phantom went through quite a funk after we lost Dakota. His mourning was complicated by the fact that he also had just had that horrible mass removed from his chest. It took some time, but he did better. We hope Allie will be fine too.
