In loving Memory of Jan Struckhoff

Today we are posting in memory of a sweet friend who left us unexpectedly last week.

Jan was Mom to the Rocky Mount Meezers.  We always loved reading her posts and the comments she left on our blog.  We enjoyed reading the adventures of Sabrina, Sam and Simon and will miss them a lot.  Their Daddy, Keith, posted this on Jan's Facebook page:

“Again, this is Keith. Thank you for you kind words. I do love Sabrina, Sam and Simon, and as most of you know I would never, ever get “rid” of them. I will take care of them as Jan would want me to do. I am technologically deficient so I cannot do cat blogging and such, so please just pass the word to others and tell them to keep Jan in their thoughts and prayers because she was such a beautiful woman inside and out. She loved the cats and all of you!”

We're glad to know that they are safe in their loving home.  Mom enjoyed many conversations with Jan because our Daddy's sister used to have a house in the Lake of the Ozarks and she recognized a lot of the things Jan spoke about or pictures she posted on FB.

Today is the memorial service for her. RIP Jan and know you were loved by many.  There is  a memorial page for Jan on the Cat Blogosphere.  You can click HERE to read it and comment.  If you have posted a memorial, please add your post to the blog hop.

This is the last thing Jan posted on FB.  We wanted to share it because we wish we could have reached out to Jan like this MomCat did.

That was a very nice tribute. I did not know Jan and was only a little familiar with her blog, but everyone has spoken so highly of her. This was such a sad loss.

I didn't know her either, only via her blog. But like quite a few others around the CB, have had my own struggles with depression for most of my life. I wish Jan had been able to get the help she needed, I wish she hadn't fallen through the cracks. It still makes me heart-sick that this illness has claimed someone else.

I hope her spirit is at peace now, and am sending universal Light to Keith and to all who knew and loved her.

Beautiful tribute. Jan was such a comfort to me when Alex had his amputation as well as when he went to the bridge... I am so saddened about her... she will be greatly missed

We didn't know Jan very well, but have visited her blog a lot recently, and know that she was loved by so many people, who wished they could have met her in person.

The CB makes the miles between us disappear and we are left behind with regrets that those dreams will not ever be real now...

I brings me comfort to know that the Meezers will help Jan's husband through this saddest of times...a part of her that will be with him always.

Sending our sympathies their way...

This is so sad and you have made it all the more touching by sharing her last facebook post and words from Keith. I am sorry I did not know Jan - she was clearly very special...

that video is amazing. All those should see it who claim that cats have no emotions or feelings.
