| Cleaning up for Turkey Day! |
We don't usually ask our friends for donations but our brofur Raz has a request from his foster Mom.
Moonpie needs help - from Raz's foster Mom's site:
Tipsy Moonpie was brought to me from a worker at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Center, FL, who found him far away from his mother and siblings which someone had dumped there. He was a tiny kitten who had been seen playing with the others just days before, but now his rear leg was useless and hanging limp. As I am involved with cat rescue and have been since 2005, I took him in to foster, and brought him to two doctors for their opinions. Both Dr. Morse and Dr. Burton said he had neurological damage but no broken bones(he was xrayed) and it was possible to heal on its own, but unlikely. Moonpie has since suffered fractures in the leg, but recovery of feeling and he will require amputation. The estimate is $500. As I am a former KSC worker laid off in March, would like to reach out to other cat lovers for assistance. My rescue group gives me a tax write off but does not provide finances, so I use my own funds. As for Moonpie, he will be up for adoption as a special needs kitten after surgery, which is planned for the second week in December. His mother and siblings were caught and taken to a no kill shelter, I was told. My website is www.curiousmeow.com.
