Photo Hunters - Ripple

This week's Photo Hunters theme is RIPPLE.

Cousin Trooper loves the water.  Here are some pics of him with his head under the faucet.  See how the watter RIPPLES down his head???

See more great Photo Hunters posts HERE.

A few of our followers have asked how Cousin Trooper is doing.  He's doing okay but is still over grooming his back legs.  The VET thought it was an allergic reaction to his litter but changing it didn't help.  He now thinks it might be a nervous condition and suggested Buspar but his new Mom would prefer to try to avoid that.   If anyone has suggestions, we would love to share them with his new Mom.

Great shot of ripples for this week's theme! It is amazing how cats are so attracted to moving water.. .

Have a good weekend.

If Cousin Trooper goes outdoors or other animals in the house go outdoors, CT could have flea bite allergy. It only takes one bite!

Also, have you tried Feliway? If he is stressed that could help.

We can't help with this but we will purr for Cousin Trooper and hope he will relax a little and stop over grooming.

We're sad that Cousin Trooper is still overgrooming. He's been through a lot of changes, and he deserves a break. You have some good suggestions above. We hope one of them helps him out.

Gosh... so many things when it comes to over grooming. Stress for sure. Sometimes it is diet - some cats react poorly to certain dry foods. We do hope Cousin Trooper will get better soon. Purrs from the Zee and Zoey Gang!

Oh what a face!!!!!

Over grooming could be (food) allergies, stress, or discomfort in an area, or sometimes it just becomes a habit. We hope he gets better.

What a handsome kitty! I've met lots of cats that overgroomed themselves... it's really a hard thing to deal with. I can't really think of any good suggestions right now either =/

Cousin Trooper is pretty funny!

Have they ruled out food allergies? That could cause over-grooming.

Hey Cousin Trooper!
That's a very nice ripply shower you've got going there!

Although we've kept it a secret, Katie began over-grooming the insides of her back legs when Waffles arrived on the scene. Fortunately we are able to help correct the problem without drugs. We used Feliway diffuses on each level of the house to help "calm" the atmosphere, Spirit Essences Stress Stopper (just a few drops in your hand and a quick couple of pets on the cat's back) and we also worked at tiring out Waffles so he'd be less likely to bug Katie. It all worked. We're still using the Feliway diffusers and believe they've made a big difference.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions at all. Good luck!

Trooper is silly, playing in the water!

Is he still adjusting? That may be why he's overgrooming.

I love how Cousin Trooper plays in the water. I hope that his new Mom finds a solution to his overgrooming soon. Herman overgroomed his private area when he had diarrhea, but that stopped when the diarrhea did.

Mom is looking for the photo of Allie Mau wants, and we came across your Ripple post. We don't know how we missed it. We always like seeing Cousin Trooper. Angel Madison used to get water all over his head like that. We're sorry about the over-grooming and hope that his new mom and the vet can come up with a plan.
