Out of respect for all cats, we will be back with Sparks next week!
Today is an important day - Respect Your Cat Day! This cat day is believed to date back to March 28, 1384, when King Richard II of England officially banned the consumption of cats through the issuance of an official decree. We can't imagine that anyone would EAT us! Today, humane societies, veterinary clinics, and other animal organizations encourage loving cat owners to appreciate the care they have provided for their pets and seek to show respect for a little more important to their feline friends.
Here are some tips on how to celebrate with your cat
Spend quality time with your cats
Schedule time with the kittens. Go ahead, really put it on your calendar. Our lives get hectic, but it's definitely worth taking some time to give your kitten some TLC. How else can you develop a strong relationship with your best friend?
Buy your cat a new cat toy
Sometimes showing your love is as easy as renewing that catnip or getting a new rake to replace an old one. You know she'll love it when you wave that ribbon around.
Find some different ways to make your cat happy
You know that kittens love to scratch behind their ears, but did you know she also loves to play taboo with you behind the curtain? Find fun new games or places your cat loves to cuddle today, even if it takes a little experimentation. It's all about letting cats know they're loved.
We had a meeting to discuss this and we have another idea. Reesie is our spokescatt. "Hey Mom how about NOT taking photos of us when we're sleeping or are in otherwise embarrassing positions???????"

I'm ALL for Respect Your Cat Day!
And guess who came to dinner? (I've been scolded by "some" who see JUNE on my table ...
PPFFFT ... ) we "respectfully" enjoy mealtime together!!! She has better manners than some ...
Katie Isabella hasn't joined me on the table yet, but if she ever does, it's her table and house too. Shes welcome...said in reference to Zoolatry.
I bet a lot of cats have that request. :)
Gosh I didn't know it was Respect Your Cat Day but I'm COVERED because I respect Teddy every single day of the year not just on "the" day. My pets are my children after all and I'll always do anything for them. Anyway, I think it's grand that your crew elected Reesie as spokescat and they've made a "demand" for some additional respect to come their way!
Hugs, Pam
MOL MOL MOL out of respect for the cats...Sharon that was funny. Good to see they are also respecting you by posing
Hugs Cecilia
Well except Reesie seems to be telling you something
Good point, Reesie!
When, however, do cats celebrate 'Respect Your Human Servants' day?!?
Hmmm...????
I respect cats every day of the year. They have claws and and I really respect the claws.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
Cats deserve all the respect! Look how sweet they are and cozy too! We have almost always had at least one if not more cats living and purring with us!
You sweeties are always respected, no doubt about it!
I love the photo! Cats really do deserve our respect. I got Manna and Dexter some of their favorite treats for today. They have been getting lots of cuddles too.
