Wordy Wednesday

Today, Raz is taking part in the February Challenge!

I want to thank all my pals who have been asking how I am doing.  I had my ultrasound last Thursday and they have no definitive results.  I could have IBD or I could have lymphoma.  My Mom chose not to do the invasive test for lymphoma.  We are treating me with steroids, Cerenia for nausea and vomiting and Mirataz for appetite.  They also gave me a B-12 shot and ran a blood test to check my B-12 levels.  My level was low so Mom is going to start giving me B-12 shots weekly.  MOL pray for her!! I am doing great and have not had a hork fest which makes Mom very happy.  One of my Cat Scouts friends has the same "diagnosis" and is doing very well two years later so I hope to follow her example!!!

Well I would say that most definitively you are a brave and handsome Kitty. We are sorry that your mommy has to work so hard to keep poking you with needles. It can't be any fun for her and it certainly isn't any funny for you. You keep eating good and make sure it stays down in your tummy where it belongs.

Raz darling they told us the very same thing about Angel Madi in 2015 it could be IBD flare up or lymphoma...We chose the same route as your smart Mom. Of course Madi already had some kidney issues It was IBD flare up that was managed nicely with diet. I also gave Madi an injection for inflammation. I never ever thought she let me but she did. I just prepared the injection found her sleeping pulled up some of her scruff and in a nano second I was done and she was none the wiser. MOMS KNOW BEST
Hugs to your and your Smart Mom

We at Wonderpurr are gathering together to send healing purrs to ease yoor distress and the progression of this diagnosis. My momma gave my big brother Buddy insulin shots twice a day for ten years. He lived to be 24 years old. We look forward to reading how yoor treatments bring a positive comfort to yoo all. Love, Dori

I hope the meds help you feel a lot better. I used to give Flynn B12 shots and they really helped him perk up.

Purrs and prayers from all of us Raz. It sounds like you're doing pretty good so far. That is what I am dealing with but I had an endoscopic biopsy to determine I have IBD. Those B12 injections are pretty easy. Cerenia is good for vomiting but not that good for nausea, try Zofran. Hugs from all of us.

I’m purring for you, Raz. And I’m glad those meds are helping you. Y’know…I have small cell lymphoma and if your mom ever wants to know more about it and treatment, she can always reach out to her. ~Ernie

Raz you will do just fine - I know it - you are strong and happy and want to be here for ages and ages to come so I know you'll let your Mom give you your shots and meds you need. Vets are very smart but they can't know what we have in our hearts - if we WANT to be here - we WILL be here no matter what they might think!!!!! Sending you tons of POTP and hugs.

Love, Teddy

We are sorry to hear of Raz's diagnosis. As you know, Mistyis dealing with inflammatory bowel disease, not irritable bowel. Not sure which Raz has, but the steroid really is a pain. Misty spends her whole day drinking and peeing and all night too. She is miserable, and Mom is too:(. The vet is waiting to get a different med compounded and then we are going to taper her off the prednisone and try the new one, budesonide. It too has its side effects, but both the specialist and our vet thinks it is time to try something else. All the best to Raz.
