Like you I carry a spare key and I also have one buried down in a flower bed. But not under the front porch mat and not under the flower pot, lol. Raz had impressive paws.

We had an old hooptie that would take any key to start; the mechanism was worn out.
I miss that car; it ran until the doors fell off.

Re: 1. I have a spare whole set of keys. One for each front pants pocket.. And a spare door key very hidden in a strange place. I bet the CIA couldn't find it in a day, LOL!

Mom was happy she didn't have to do any of them today.
