The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

As she always did on Tuesday mornings, Periwinkle spent extra time grooming her furs and making sure her whiskers looked purrfect.  Periwinkle kept her eyes on the Teleportation Tunnel because she knew her boyfriend, Stinky, would be arriving shortly.  She smiled when she saw the Tunnel start to shake because that was the sign he was on the way.  With a WOOOSH, he popped out and landed right in her paws.  They giggled and spent some time whisker kissing and catching up on the last week's events.

Before he could ask what she planned, Periwinkle took him by the paw and guided him back into the Teleportation Tunnel.  Very quickly, they arrived at their destination.

Stinky said "The Teleportation Tunnel sure is fast.  We couldn't have driven to Tallahassee for our adventure!"  Periwinkle agreed and began to tell Stinky about the Museum.  "The Tallahassee Museum, located here in Tallahassee, Florida, is a fascinating blend of history, wildlife, and outdoor adventure. It's not just a traditional museum; it's more like an outdoor learning experience. This unique museum offers visitors a chance to explore Florida’s history, ecology, and wildlife in one setting." "This sounds like it's going to be fun" said Stinky.

Paw in paw, the two wandered through the different parts of the museum. Stinky promised to behave but Periwinkle knew that he probably would run off at some point and climb. No sooner did she think that when he spotted the Tree to Tree zipline and ran to the top.

Periwinkle rolled her eyes and asked him to come down.  She was afraid he would try to do the zipline and get hurt.  Good boyfriend that he was, he came right down and apologized.  He took her paw and they continued walking.  Perwinkle said one of the museum's highlights is its wildlife exhibits, which showcase native animals such as black bears, red wolves, and alligators in naturalistic habitats. There are also opportunities for visitors to interact with animals up close through educational programs and demonstrations." Just then they saw the sign that led to the bobcat. Being cats (even cartoon ones) they decided that was a great exhibit to see.

When they got there, they giggled because the Bobcat was doing what all cats like doing, napping!

Periwinkle let out a "SQUEEE" and suddenly ran off which really surprised Stinky since she was always level-headed (unlike him)  As soon as she saw where she went he laughed and said they should make sure they took a photo to send to her fursib, Noelle. Periwinkle was happy that one of the highlights of the museum is its wildlife exhibits, which showcase native animals such as black bears, red wolves, and alligators in naturalistic habitats. There are also opportunities for visitors to interact with animals up close through educational programs and demonstrations. She was thrilled to get this close to the lizard.

They continued walking while Periwinkle told him about another fun part of the museum, the 21 pieces from Jim Gary’s Twentieth Century Dinosaurs. These dinosaurs are made of discarded automobile parts that got a second chance and were transformed into replicas of prehistoric creatures. Some of these pieces span as much as 43 feet in length and weigh up to 4,000 pounds.  "That's a cool way to recycle," said Stinky.
First they came across two giant red metal ants...

Then they found a big blue dinosaur.

And a brontosaurus.  Periwinkle was so happy that Stinky refrained from climbing on them!

The tabbies were getting tired and their tummies were rumbling so they took the train.  Periwinkle told Stinky more about the train.  "The Tallahassee Museum train is a beloved feature of the museum's offerings. It's a miniature train ride that takes visitors on a scenic tour around the museum grounds."

They stopped at a bench and enjoyed the picnic lunch that Periwinkle brought.

After their picnic, they re-entered the Teleportation Tunnel to head back to Periwinkle's house.  When they arrived, Stinky visited with Periwinkle's Mom and fursibs and then spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting before Stinky had to leave.  Soon, he entered the Tunnel and, with a last whisker kiss and a WOOSH, he was on his way home.

Periwinkle found a sun puddle and took a nap while dreaming of her boyfriend.

WOW - now that is a wonderful place to explore! Stinky is always looking for a way to capture Periwinkle's attention by climbing up high - he would have made a good circus performer.......This was quite a fun spot for an adventure for sure.

Hugs, Teddy
