The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Before Periwinkle and Stinky share their Adventure, they want to remind you that today is Election Day in the US.  If you haven't done mail-in or early voting, don't forget to vote today.  Mom usually does election day but has another dentist appointment today so she did early voting.

As sometimes happens, Periwinkle and Stinky had their Adventure a few days earlier but are sharing today.  Stinky arrived at Periwinkle's house early Saturday morning.  He popped out of the Teleportation Tunnel into her waiting paws and they spent time whisker kissing and paw patting.  Periwinkle handed Stinky an umbrella because they would be outside and, being cats, didn't like getting wet and there was a chance of rain.  The two hopped into her Mom's car for the short trip to the Satellite Beach Community Center.   On the way there Periwinkle told Stinky about the Founder's Day celebration. "Founders Day is held every year on the first Saturday in November. This year’s parade theme, “Cruisin’ through 60 years,” will highlight the milestones, landmarks, innovations, and events that have shaped our city, community, and the Woman’s Club over the past 60 years, showcasing change, new ideas, and the importance of our little city's history!"

Periwinkle took Stinky over to a corner and said "One more thing, if you have the urge to climb on things..."

Stinky giggled and promised to behave.

Since the parade didn't start until later, they decided to visit the vendors.

One of the first vendors they stopped at was a friend of Periwinkle's Mom.  Stinky enjoyed checking out her books.

There were lots of vendors (but no cat items).   Periwinkle explained that her Mom and others refer to their little city as "Mayberry" but she didn't know what that meant.

There were even lots of food trucks.  The tabbies decided to grab a snack before the parade began.

As they walked around they saw some woofies who recognized them right away.

One of the officials came by and said they knew how famous they were and asked them to judge the parade.

They watched excitedly as the various groups and floats came by.

It started to rain so they figured they should head back to Periwinkle's house.  They joined in the parade for a couple of blocks on the way.

Stinky ran off and Periwinkle worried that he was going to climb on something but just laughed and rolled her eyes when she saw him with his new "friend."

They were sorry they had to leave so early but it was raining harder and they knew their Moms would want them home.

Back at Periwinkle's house they dried off and spent some time snuggling and whisker kissing until Stinky had to leave for his house.  With one last whisker kiss, he entered the Teleportation Tunnel and was on his way home.

Periwinkle and Stinky hoped you enjoyed seeing this little slice of Mayberry.  We know it's not the most exciting Adventure they have had but love Periwinkle's town and wanted to share it with you.

Oh boy! What fun.......living in a small town (like Mayberry was supposed to be) is nice.....our town is small too. People know each other better and there is a closeness that's special. Your Founder's Day look like it was a WHOLE LOT OF FUN!

Hugs, Teddy and Mom
