Our regular Selfies are postponed since we lost a very special blogging friend yesterday. Jackie from Two Devon Cats has left us.
Jackie Avery ~ brave and courageous, creative and funny, loving and loved. So very much loved by so very many. A cat blogging legend for twenty years ~ yes, twenty years! Jackie began telling us of the adventures of Eric and Flynn in 2006 as they roamed the fields of Allern Farm, climbing trees, chasing field mice, digging holes, wandering far and wide, and even wearing their own tiny, little cameras to shoot their own videos! Sleeping in flower pots or hay stacks in the barn, but always returning home to snuggle in Daddy Ivor’s lap at night, or curling up with Mom. Jackie shared their lives even after they crossed the bridge, taking us back in time, letting us all relive those “adventures”.
Adventures are not always good ones in life, and some years ago, cancer came for our dear Jackie. But she attacked it fiercely and won that battle. When it made a return visit not long ago, she fought again. Week in and out, over and over. Many of you stood with her in this fight. It was not won, as hard as she tried, as much as she fought and all she suffered through these past months of treatments, we have sadly lost our beloved friend Jackie.
Our hearts hurt for her husband Ivor, their lifetime together. Our hearts hurt for their many close and dear friends in the United Kingdom and throughout the community of pet blogging. Jackie was a dear, kind and warm soul ~ loving and so loved. She will be missed, she will be remembered.
Note: If you would like to send a sympathy/condolence card or note you can email ann @ zoolatry for the address.
We're pawticipating in The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies today.

Thank you for sharing this. I've only known her through the blog for a couple of years. She seemed a very lovely lady in her comments on all blogs I will miss seeing.
Thank you for sharing this saddest of news. Jackie was such a kind and caring human. Forever the voice of Eric and Flynn and will always be the image and persona of Devon, UK, and foreign holidays which she and Ivor so kindly shared with us all.
Thank you for sharing this, Sharon ... we shall all miss our dear friend, Jackie.
Even though I never met Jackie in person, I always felt like she was a dear friend. She will be missed by many.
Broken-hearted over this news.
Jackie was loved all over this entire world. She shared love and kindness in every comment she left.
I will miss her and in the same breath am thankful to have known her.
Hugs cecilia
This is so sad. We always looked forward to her posts and lovely comments. We shall miss her xx
We have all lost a dear friend. This was a beautiful tribute to her. XO
Loved her, still do, dearly. I will miss her for all time.
Sharon, I am so heartbroken to hear this news. Jackie was such a sweet soul, and she fought her cancer with such bravery. I always admired her determination and that she never gave up. I was happy that she and Ivor continued to travel and enjoy the things they loved. We have lost so many blogging friends through the years, and I will truly miss Jackie. I loved that she continued to share Eric and Flynn with us after they went to the Rainbow Bridge, and I always loved her art and puzzles. I know she and the boys are together again and that she will be missed by so many. Hugs and love to you, Janet
A lovely and loving tribute. While not a regular visitor the joyful photos of Eric and Flynn raises my spirits each time I opened the door to the Two Devon Cats.
Such a shocking loss, she was such a special lady.
Even knowing how long she'd been fighting, this was such sad, unexpected news.
A gorgeous tribute for a gorgeous lady, thank you... we're still in shock at BBHQ ππΏπΏπΏπ
Jackie was one of a kind.....she was a friend to so many of us - the kind of friend you can never forget - ever. I will miss her more than I can say. My prayers are with Ivor - they were "closer than close"........
Love, Pam
