Father's Day Sunday Selfies and Sedona selffies

We're pawticipating in The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies today.

We took some of our favorite selfies and made a card for Dad for Father's Day!

Our last day in Sedona.....we hated to leave!  Here's the yummy breakfast Mom and I had...it was a frittata with veggies at the bottom....YUM-A-ROO big, tasty chunks of ham steak went with it!

Before we left, I took a selfie with Sara, Mark and the resident woofie Tequila!

Time to go home...............Another totally uncomfortable and LONG (think big delays) trip home on Frontier.

We even brought our own water bottles.....we brought empty ones to the airport and filled them there!  Everything cost bazillion dollars on the plane!!!

We hope you enjoyed our trip to Sedona!  We'll be back to regular blogging next week.  Don't forget that tomorrow is International Box Day!!!

Caturday Cat Art and Sedona

We're joining Athena's Caturday Art Blog Hop

We're using one of the photos from our Sedona trip today.  We used the Painnt Toon effect and the Shaped Tinted Border from LunaPic

See more Caturday Cat Art HERE.

On the last full day in Sedona, Mom and Dad went to Jerome which is an old mining town.  They both had difficulty with the altitude there so they didn't stay too long.

On the way they stopped at a place for breakfast.....Mom and I shared roasted pepper and spinach eggs Benedict!  Yum-a-roo!

I took a selfie at this place.....can you see me????

Sooo......what did those two crazy kids do after Jerome?   They drove to Prescott to visit a radio station.....yep...you heard me right.   They used to listen to this station when it steamed a few years ago.  The station got overloaded when a similar XM station went off the air and stopped streaming.  As soon as Mom and Dad get to AZ they tune the car radio into KAHM.   Now the station is doing a paid subscription service and Mom and Dad can listen on their Internet Radio!

Here I am on the sign....

Look at all these CATS!!!!

We all got a nice tour of the station while we were there.  They even took us to an old bomb shelter that was part of the building when it was moved there.  They have BAZILLION record albums there.  Of course, the music is all digital now

One of the parts of the tour was telling us that the station had a cat for years.  When the cat went to the Bridge, they didn't feel it was good to get another one....but here's the BEST part.   The founder of the station started the Yavapai Humane Society!!   HEREs a link to their Facebook page too.

Needless to say, this is the way the day ended.....or so they thought.......

Unfortunately, that night Dad had a seizure and ended up in the Sedona ER  He has a history of seizures but has not had one in 7 years.  The EMTs and ER doctor all agreed that the high altitude had an effect on him...plus a bit of dehydration and his seizure medicine level had dropped.  That was not the best way to end their vacation.  Mom was grateful they were at the Cozy Cactus because the people there are like family.  They were a huge help to Mom during that scary time.

Friendly Fill-Ins and Sedona Day 5

We're pawticipating in Friendly Fill-ins sponsored by McGuffy's Reader and 15 and Meowing.

1. I challenge everyone to __Be KIND to each other______ this week.
2. I regret disposing of __My collection of Barbra Streisand records....even though I don't have a turntable to play them on_.
3. I have a difficult time admitting how easily I can work myself into a frenzy about things that I have no control over.
4. If I were given a psychic power, I would like it to be    Faith Healing which is the ability to diagnose or cure diseases using religious devotion.
 .

Day 5 in Sedona was Memorial Day and Mom and Dad's Anniversary!   The Cozy Cactus was decorated with flags for Memorial Day.

Mom and Dad drove around and did some sightseeing.....

Chapel on the Hill.....

Bell Rock (we could actually see this from our room)

We all had dinner at The Hudson....

Aren't they cute?

They actually had the same dessert they had last year.....Ellie's Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie!!!

When they got back to the Cozy Cactus, they joined some of the other guests sitting around the fire.  Good times!!! Mom and Dad say that they have met the nicest people at the Cozy Cactus.

Poetic Thankful Thursday ANTS and Sedona Day 4

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

Today's letter is "A" and the suggested themes were  (1)  ants     (2)   anger   (3)   apples  (4)  ankles

We chose
 ANTS!!

Ants in your pants
or in the plants.
Ant's are annoying
and can be destroying.
Ants on the table?
We didn't enable!
He's actually cute
And quite a hoot!

This ant was one of the cute decorations on the table at the Cozy Cactus.  He was a good guy and never bothered anything.   (DISCLAIMER....this is NOT a REAL ANT)   Wonder why we needed that?   Last year there was a photo of flat Raz and a ducky on the table and somebody asked the Cozy Cactus if the cat is allowed on the table!!!  Um.....we're pretty sure it is obvious that FLAT Raz is not a real cat.....what do you think?

Today is also Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

I am very THANKFUL that this bear at the Ranger's Station in Sedona didn't EAT me!

I think these guys were relatives of our pal BACON from Pig Love....

I'm also THANKFUL I didn't have to climb this rock....isn't it pretty?

Yep....another dessert.  Sorry the photo is dark....we were in a BAR! Can you see me in the photo?

Ut oh....

Sedona Day 3

Sedona....Day 3....

I MIGHT have had a bit too much wine last night.  The coffee here at the Cozy Cactus is really GOOD!

Breakfast had a Mexican flare.   Mom is low carb and had something different.....that's the nice thing about the Cozy Cactus...they accommodate your diet.

OMC MOM AND DAD....how embarrassing....especially since Dad has on TWO hats!!!!

ManCat Monday

Hi effurybuddy, Flat Raz here.   As some of you know, Mom and Dad and I went to Sedona for a vacation a couple of weeks ago.   We had a great time (well....other than one incident that I'll tell you about later in the week)

We got to the Orlando airport with plenty of time to spare.   We had an early morning flight so it should all be good, right?  Nope.....there was a problem with the plane and we were delayed taking off.

See this TINY tray?  That's the WHOLE TRAY!!!  Mom and Dad were flying Frontier because they had to use tickets they couldn't use in October (remember Hurricane Matthew?)  Eventually we did take off and got to Sedona to start our vacation.

We stayed at our favorite B&B - The Cozy Cactus and this was the view from our room....

The first night in Sedona Mom and Dad always go to a place the locals like called PJ's Village Pub

And yes, Dad DID have a yummy dessert!!!

We'll be sharing more of our adventures all week!

Flat Raz - Tasty Tuesday and the Chapel of the Holy Cross

Flat Raz sure had a great time eating and drinking his way through Sedona.   Today we're going to share some photos from Mom and Dad's anniversary dinner and the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

The day started with Dad's favorite breakfast at the Cozy Cactus.  It was a Vortex puff with lemon curd.....when you cut into it there is warm berry filling.   Totally AWESOME!

Mom and Dad visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross which is one of the most beautifully designed chapels!   From the Chapel website:

The Chapel of the Holy Cross was a gift from Marguerite Brunswig Staude, a sculptress, philanthropist, and devout Catholic, who believed the arts should be in service of spirit and indeed, considered the Chapel of the Holy Cross to be her greatest artistic achievement and the fulfillment of her life's mission. In 1932 Staude had an epiphany. While she gazed upon the newly completed Empire State Building, she saw a cross superimposed on the structure, and she thought, "What an idea for a church!" This idea, which affirmed her belief that churches should speak to the people of their time, would haunt and inspire Staude. "God can be worshipped as a contemporary--bringing him closer to earth and every one of us," she said. - See more at: http://www.gatewaytosedona.com/sedona-arizona-information/sedona-attractions/91-the-chapel-of-the-holy-cross-sedona-architectural-landmark#sthash.yZhjSLwl.dpuf

Interior shot of the Altar.   If you biggify it, you can get an idea of the fantastic view!

One of the reasons this site was picked was because of the center rock formation.  If you look closely, it looks like the Madonna and child.  The other rocks give the appearance of Nuns watching over.

Since it was their anniversary, Carrie from the Cozy Cactus suggested The Hudson  for dinner and offered to call to make reservations for them.  Once again, they had a delicious and creative dinner!!

Ut oh.....here he goes again......

Mom and Dad each had the same thing for dinner - the BEEF & BLUE CENTER CUT PRIME BEEF FILET (Mom had hers without the potatoes).  Biggify the picture to see how beautifully the meal was!  They did a weave of asparagus and little bouquets of the veggies!!

Of course there was dessert....They figured they should have this one since it was named after Ellie!!  ELLIE’S CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER PIE

Between the wine and the dessert, Flat Raz was seen snoozing on the table!!!
