The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

It was a good morning to snooze in a comfy spot, and that's exactly what Periwinkle was doing.  Yes, it is Tuesday, but she and Stinky had their Adventure on Saturday because there were a couple of great events they didn't want to miss.  Let's go back in time to see what their Adventure was...

Periwinkle paced in front of the Teleportation Tunnel, waiting for Stinky's arrival.  He was always on time, but it was extra impawtent today because they had a full schedule.  It wasn't long before the Tunnel began to shake and, with a WOOSH, he tumbled out into her waiting paws.  They spent a few minutes whisker kissing and paw-patting.  Before he could even ask what they were doing, Perwinkle took him by the paw and out to her Mom's car, where Reesie was waiting in her PTU.

Stinky asked where they were going, and Periwinkle replied, "We have two special events today.  Right now, we are going to the Blessing of the Pets." Stinky remembered doing that before, and he knew it was a fun Adventure.  Since it was a rainy day, the Blessing was being done in a covered area.  There were lots of woofies who were waiting, but they found a good spot where there wasn't a lot of noise.  They were stopped by a woofie who recognized them!

They settled in with Reesie, who brought photos of Noelle and Sawyer since Noelle was not happy in crowds and in the PTU, and Sawyer stayed at home.

The woofies were well behaved as they waited...

Soon Father Red started the blessing (if you listen closely, you can hear Reesie's meow.  We were the only cats there.)

Everyone had a copy of the prayers...here's the Prayer of Blessing...

After the general blessing, each pet got to go up and get an individual blessing as well as a medal

Reesie and Mom (please ignore Mom's wild hair!)

When the blessing was over, Periwinkle took Stinky by the paw and led him back to the car.  They stopped at Periwinkle's house to drop off Reesie and then headed to the next part of their Adventure.
They pulled up to the Library and Stinky asked if they were going to read books about cats.  Periwinkle giggled and said they weren't but they were going to see some cats!

"Oh cool, I've always wanted to go to a Cat Cafe" said Stinky.  There was a large crowd waiting to get in to see the kitties. Being under 18, Periwinkle's Mom had to go with them.   There were activities available while you waited...

Both tabbies were excited to see the kitties.  They were relieved that they were allowed in, since they were cats, but they were told it was okay since they were cartoon cats.

Soon it was their turn to go in.  Of course, the kittens caught their eye first.  Stinky jumped right in with two who were playing.  Periwinkle rolled her eyes but, since it was allowed, she didn't say anything.

Periwinkle's Mom couldn't resist holding one of the kittens. (once again, please ignore her wild hair and wacky glasses!)

She fell in love with the little ginger guy...

Some older cats were also waiting to find their Forever homes.  This one was named Saucy and was 10 years old and a pretty big guy.  He was purring and seemed very sweet.

This big ginger guy was waiting for his new family.  He didn't have an info sheet because he was being adopted!

This little girl, Pixel, was waiting to find a home.

Always helpful, Periwinkle and Stinky spent some time helping out at the Adoption table...

Because so many people were waiting, they were only allowed to be in the cafe for 15 minutes unless they were adopting a kitty.  They hated to leave but wanted to give others time to find their special friend.

They went back to Periwinkle's house, where Noelle and Reesie were wondering if their Mom was going to come home with a new fursib for them.  The tabbies told them that their Mom did not adopt anyone, although she was tempted to.  Relieved, Noelle and Reesie went off to snooze in their favorite spots.

Periwinkle and Stinky spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting, and took a quick nap before it was time for Stinky to leave.  Stinky thanked Periwinkle's Mom for bringing them to the two events and, with a WOOSH and one last whisker kiss, headed home.

Periwinkle found her own napping spot and curled up thinking about the wonderful day she had with Stinky.

The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Periwinkle snoozed on her cozy blankie as she listened to the rain.  A storm was coming, and she was glad she and Stinky had their Adventure on Saturday so they wouldn't have to miss it this week.  She smiled as she remembered their time together.

Saturday morning Periwinkle got up early in anticipation of Stinky's arrival.  She didn't have to wait long before the Teleportation Tunnel rumbled and the familiar WOOSH sent Stinky out of the Tunnel and into her waiting paws.  After some whisker kissing, paw patting and catching up, Stinky asked what the plan was.  Periwinkle said they were staying close to her house and going to her Mom's Church for the Blessing of the Pets.  Stinky was happy to hear that since they only got to do a virtual blessing the previous year.  The tabbies hopped into her Moms car for the short trip to the Church.  They also took Periwinkle's fursib Reesie with them.  Periwinkle explained that Noelle did not like traveling in the car so she would get a virtual blessing and so would Stinky's fursib Sawyer.

They arrived early and took some time to visit with the woofies that were waiting to be blessed.

They introduced themselves to the priest who was happy to see them.

Periwinkle's Mom put photos of Sawyer, Noelle and their woofie friend Bear on Reesie's PTU so they could all get blessings too.

Soon it was time for the Blessing to begin.  Periwinkle's Mom Sharon took a video.

Reesie was the first to receive a Blessing.

They all got specially blessed medals too.

After they got blessed, they walked around to meet the other pets.  There was only one cat, Noodle.

The woofies were very friendly.

They were impurressed with how well-behaved everyone was.

When everyone was finished, they hopped back into Periwinkle's Moms' car to head back to her house.  They were both tired and hungry so Periwinkle's Mom made them a snack and they took a quick nap holding paws.  Soon it was time for Stinky to head home.  He told Periwinkle he hoped Milton would stay away from them and that they would all be safe.  Periwinkle said her Mom had stocked up on food for them and that she would keep him informed on the storm.  Periwinkle reminded him to take Sawyer's medal with him. With a whisker kiss he entered the Teleportation Tunnel and headed home.  Periwinkle went to find Noelle to tell her what she missed and to give her the medal they got.

The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

It was Tuesday morning and Periwinkle was snoozing in a sunpuddle.  WHAT???? WAIT....Did she forget it's Tuesday????????????????

Don't panic!  Something special was going on over the weekend so Stinky came a few days early for their Adventure!!!    Let's take a trip back in time (since the Teleportation Tunnel lets us do that) to see what they did.

Early SUNDAY morning, Periwinkle sat by the Teleportation Tunnel waiting for her boyfriend, Stinky to arrive.  She hoped he didn't forget since it was not their normal day but her fears were calmed when the tunnel began to shake and, with a WOOSH, he popped out into her waiting paws.  They spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting and he finally asked why he was there on a different day.

"We had such a nice time last week when we visited Assisi (click HERE if you missed it), I thought we should take it one step further and actually go to a blessing of the pets.  Stinky agreed that it was a good idea.  Periwinkle explained that the blessing would be virtual with only photos of pets in the Church but that, as cartoon cats, they would be able to attend.

They got to Church early so they could take a photo with the pictures of Noelle and Reesie.

They both agreed that it was nice to be part of the Blessing along with the pets of others in the congregation.

When they returned to Periwinkle's house, she asked Stinky if he would like to help put up the Halloween decorations.  Always ready to help, he said yes and they started decorating.

They opened the box with placemats and towels...

Stinky headed right to the kitchen to put out the towels and placemats...

Periwinkle did the bathroom...

They put the cat face lights and ghosts on the entertainment center...

And the big (scary) spider...

And the big black cat...

Stinky hopped up on the divider to put the cute black cat on the corner...

They both put the Halloween throw on the loveseat...they giggled at the word "loveseat" and stopped for a minute to whisker kiss...

When they were done decorating, they took a quick nap together in the Halloween scratcher house...

When they woke up, Stinky visited with Periwinkle's fursibs for a little while.  Before he got in the Teleportation Tunnel Periwinkle said she had one more thing to remind him about.  "This is Fire Prevention Week so I wanted us to watch a video by Sparky the Firedog and let our friends know they can click HERE for more information on Fire Prevention Week."

Finally, it was time for Stinky to return home.  After more paw pats and whisker kisses, he hopped into the Teleportation Tunnel, blew one more kiss and, with a WOOSH, headed home.

Sunday Selfies

We're pawticipating in The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies today.   Normally, we would be going to be blessed but, thanks to COVID, that's not happening this year.  We're sharing a photo from 2017.  Raz, Angel Allie and Flat Angel Mau went to the blessing together.

Wordy Wednesday - Blessing of the Pets

Last week was the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.  As you know, Mom always takes us to get blessed.  We usually go to Patrick Air Force Base but this year they didn't do it because they do not have a priest right now.  Mom decided it was too far to go to our own church so we went to one closer to home.  Holy Name of Jesus is only 3 miles as opposed to our Church which is closer to 14 miles.

Mom was a bit concerned about Noelle since her only other trip in the PTU was when we evacuated.  THIS happened when we got about half a block from home and only got worse.  By the time we were almost to A1A (about 1/2 mile) Noelle was in such a panic and panting that Mom turned around to take her home.

Mom took this REALLY LOUSY photo of us waiting to be blessed.  There were TONS of dogs barking the whole time and only 3 other cats.

Mom took a video of the actual Blessing.  It's a little hard to hear because of the wind and barking dogs but you can see how well attended it was.

True to form, Raz kept his title as PTU Pooper!  We didn't even make it TO the Blessing when he earned it!  Fortunately, Mom puts wee wee pads in his PTU so it's an easy cleanup!

We went up to Father Scott to thank him after the blessing was over and Mom told him Allie was 17.  He said that deserved a special blessing so we got blessed twice!  Pretty cool, huh?

Sunday Selfies and a Blessing

We're pawticipating in The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies today.

We went to the Blessing of the Pets on Wednesday at Patrick Air Force Base St. George Catholic Community/  We took a selfie prior to the blessing.  We also have a slideshow of photos and a video of the actual blessing.

Raz, Allie and Flat Mau waiting for the Blessing.

The wind was really loud so you might not be able to hear the Blessing as well as we would have liked.
