Periwinkle was enjoying a sun puddle and thinking about the fun she and Stinky had when they tried to catch the lizard. She decided to teleport over to Stinky's house to see if Stinky wanted to go on another adventure. She found Stinky snoozing in his own sun puddle.
"Hey Stinky, what's up? Want to go on another adventure?" Stinky yawned and stretched and said "Sure Thing Periwinkle. What do you have in mind?"
Periwinkle explained that, since Halloween and Trick or Treat was coming up, they should go check out where they might want to go to get Treats. She knew the Temptations she brought on their last adventure wouldn't last long. Stinky was all for it!
Periwinkle grabbed the leftover Temptations and a lunch bag with Fancy Feast in case they wanted to have a picnic lunch and off they went!
Stinky was a little nervous that Periwinkle didn't know her way around his town, but he trusted her instincts. Unfortunately, Periwinkle forgot her GPS and they wandered around, lost. Thank COD they had those Temptations to keep them from STARVING!
Periwinkle started to get scared but Stinky held her paw and said he would guide them to safety.
As they walked along they realized there was a house ahead of them that had lots of big scary eyes looking out.
"Whoa, Stinky, I think we should stay away from that place"
"Don't worry Periwinkle, we're together and I am sure we'll be safe"
As Periwinkle and Stinky started to approach the house, they heard soft purrs and meows. Could it be?
Periwinkle opened a can of Fancy Feast and, sure enough, she heard what sounded like THoE running towards the door.
Periwinkle and Stinky slowly approached the door and as they got there it opened. What a surprise they found!!!
The door opened slightly and they heard a voice say "Who are you two Tabbies?"
"Um....I am Stinky and this is Periwinkle. We're looking around the neighborhood and thought we heard purring and meows"
"Yes, Stinky, you did"
The door opened wide and guess what they saw?
That's right, the house was FILLED with Black Cats!!!! Perwinkle and Stinky were surprised to see so many beautiful House Panthers living in one place. The Head Cat came out and told them that the black cats all live here together to keep them safe during the Halloween season.
Periwinkle and Stinky already knew that black cats are the last to get homes in the shelters and that mean people do bad things to them around Halloween. They were so happy to see that these beautiful kitties were safe.
The Head Cat told Periwinkle and Stinky how to get back to Stinky's house so Periwinkle could teleport home. The left all their Fancy Feast with the black cats and headed back.
"Well Stinky, that sure was amazing, wasn't it? Do you want to go back to that neighborhood to Trick or Treat?"
"I sure do! Anyplace that is that nice to black cats is sure to fill our bags up with LOTS of goodies"
Stinky and Periwinkle shared headbonks and paw pats and whisker kisses and Periwinkle teleported home. She couldn't wait for the next time she and Stinky have an adventure!
