Flashback Friday, NOMS day and Friendly Fill-Ins

Today is Flashback Friday AND NOMS day.   We're posting a flashback post from last year.....at the end we have a funny (well....WE think it is) story to tell you about Mom.

Today is a special day in the Blogosphere...its' NOMS day....Not of My Species Day....

The day was originally started by The Cat Realm  in 2007.  Here’s what they said:

The Cat Realm's I Dare you All to make a Not of My Species (NOMS) Friend. From The Cat Realm: "We declare
August 5th to be NOMS Day, a new international public holiday!
Details at our blog; we hope you will celebrate with us! Today we are celebrating Noms Day, a holiday to remember that all beings are equal, to remind ourselves to be tolerant towards everybody, to reach out across species, cultures, nationalities, religions, languages, beliefs and appearances and to come together and embrace our differences We have a few NOMS friends"

This year we're sharing one of the (many) lizards who visit us.   This little guy seems very happy behind the clock.

Do you have NOMS friends?

Now....for the funny story.....The other day Mom and Dad were working in the yard.   Mom came in and was at her computer for quite a while when she felt an itchy feeling inside her shirt on her back.  She figured it was a leaf or something from outside.   She tried to brush it off and it didn't come off.   She kind of FREAKED....pulled off her shirt and to her dismay.....a BABY LIZARD was in her shirt.   We tried to get it for her but it ran into a closet.   Raz the Hunter will probably eventually get it!!

We're  also pawticipating in Friendly Fill-ins sponsored by McGuffy's Reader and 15 and Meowing.

Raz is answering this week.

We have loads of friends that are not our species....today we're featuring a little guy that's living behind the clock on our back porch............he's a FROG!

Mom calls him Jeremiah and she sings some silly song about him being a Bullfrog and having some mighty fine wine............we think she's a very strange NOMS Mom!!!

Do you have a NOMS friend?

NOMS day 2010

Today is the 3rd anniversary of the Cat Realm's I Dare you All to make a Not of My Species (NOMS) Friend.

From The Cat Realm: "We declare

Tamir thought this guy looked like a good possibility. He actually had a tail before we got to him. Isn't he the teeniest, tinyest little lizard???
Mom said that wouldn't work....we needed to show a real NOMS friend! This year we are going to feature a cool woofie named Sadie. Sadie lives with Isabella and Angel and their Mom and Dad from Beaded Tail. You can read Sadie's story HERE. Sadie likes to take long strolls and works very hard at making sure her Mom doesn't get lost on those strolls. Sadie's mom Sharla makes purrty jewelry and a portion of the proceeds are donated to animal awareness causes. Beaded Tail's Etsy shop is HERE.

NOMS day one year later!

Hey Ellie - look at this! We have a NOMS (Not of My Species) friend here in the kitchen....should I whap him?

No Allie....he looks like a nice little fluttery thing....
Hey Mom - can you let this guy outside?????
Today is
NOMSS Day, the anniversary of the NOMSS Furriend Dare by the Cat Realm.

We have lots of NOMS pals, but the one who khomes to mine first is our own kyoot pal Khyra from Khyra's Khorner. Khyra always manages to stop by with a klever comment or a kind word. For a woofie, we think Khyra is Khoool!! We love Khyra!!

pee ess - Mom says those black flutttery things are eating her Snow on the Mountain plants down to bare stalks.
