Shopping Around the World
Today we're pawticipating in Shopping Around the World sponsored by Bacon from Pig Love.
Here are the details from Bacon's blog:
1 stick of butter, melted
1 lemon, sliced
1 T Italian seasoning (I use Trader Joes 21 seasoning salute)
1 pound(real live dead) shrimp, peeled and deveined
Line a cookie sheet with foil for easy cleanup. Pour melted butter onto pan, place sliced lemons on the butter, and place shrimp on top of the lemon slices. Sprinkle with seasoning and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. (I find it usually takes more like 20-25 minutes)
2 small to medium zucchini
spiral or julienne slicer
Shrimp $12.95 (large, peeled and deveined)
Lemon 3/$1.00
Butter $4.95/lb
Seasoning $3.95 for a 2.2 ounce bottle....you use about 1 tablespoon
Zucchini $1.69/lb

Me and my pal Fozzie started Shopping Around the World in April 2014. This has become a huge hit and we all want to know if we are paying more or less than everyone else – snorts. Our next scheduled Shopping Around the World will be – Wednesday, September 30th.Do a posting on your blog linked back to mine. That way we can keep track of all of the different prices. It should be interesting to see the differences between. Mark your calendar so you can do a posting with us.Items to price this month:FIVE items of your CHOICE – Something that you go to when making the family dinner. Perhaps this is one of your family’s favorite? A quick meal? A snack? List your FIVE items and discuss what the meal is. Having pictures will also be fantastic to share.
Our recipe is easy peasy baked real live dead shrimp served over zucchini noodles (Zoodles)
1 stick of butter, melted

Line a cookie sheet with foil for easy cleanup. Pour melted butter onto pan, place sliced lemons on the butter, and place shrimp on top of the lemon slices. Sprinkle with seasoning and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. (I find it usually takes more like 20-25 minutes)
Zucchini Noodles
2 small to medium zucchini
spiral or julienne slicer
Cut noodles using your preferred tool. I use this spiral slicer, but I've also used a Titan Peeler. The spiral slicer is much easier!
After cutting, let noodles sit in colander for 30 minutes. A bit of moisture will drain. After 30 minutes, give them a squeeze with your hands to remove more water. place zoodles in a large pan. I use a deep skillet.. Toss with a bit of butter, a teaspoon or so will do. Heat over medium, tossing often, just until the zoodles brown a bit.

NOMS Day! Butterflies and Brownie!

August 5th to be NOMS Day, a new international public holiday! Details at our blog; we hope you will celebrate with us! Today we are celebrating Noms Day, a holiday to remember that all beings are equal, to remind ourselves to be tolerant towards everybody, to reach out across species, cultures, nationalities, religions, languages, beliefs and appearances and to come together and embrace our differences We have a few NOMS friends"We here at Friends FurEver have a lot of NOMS friends, but we've chosen to highlight two. The first NOMS friends we have would be these little CATerpillars. They were right outside our kitchen window. We needed Meowmy and Daddy's help to see them.
See how they live on the flowers of the plant sharing the tasty green leaves! CATerpillars feed in small groups when young but become solitary when older
Here's a picture of the flowers on the plant that they live on. The CATerpillers make cocoons on these plants under the leaves and in all kinds of hidey places so the birds don't get them.
Meowmy isn't fast enough with her camera, but here is what the pretty butterflys look like when they hatch. We enjoy watching them from our perch in the window.
Next we have our pal Brownie! Brownie was one of the very first posters on our Blog! We enjoy reading his blog and consider him a cool NOMS pal!
