Christmas Eve Sunday Selfies

We're pawticipating in The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies today.

Hello?   Um....how do I do this?  What's a selfie?  It's for our blog?  We have a blog?  What IS a blog???  Wow....so much for me to learn.

I guess I should introduce myself!  My name is Noelle (well, until yesterday it was Spanky but it's Noelle now).  I am the newest Florida Furkid.

Sorry that this is blurry.....I never took a selfie before.....let me try again.....

That's better!   I am going to let my new Mom tell you more about me.

Hi all, Mom Sharon here.  The other day I took some donations to the Friends of Animals Sanctuary thrift shop.  I was way overdue taking the items because some were Christmas.   There was a photo of this little girl on the counter saying she needed a home.  She was really cute and tugged at my heart but I said no way.  Over the next couple of days, I thought about her a LOT.   I also remember Bill saying we needed to find another little girl to love after we lost Ellie.  He DID want another Birman but there are no Birman kittens around here right now.  SOOOOOOOOOOOOO......after talking to Gracie's Mom, Steph and my friend Donna, I decided to get more info on her.  She was not local....she was in Palm Coast which is 3 hours north of us.  The foster Mom said she rescued her and her two brothers and Mom not long after they were born.  She thinks they were born around the time of hurricane Irma.  Of course, that is the week Bill left us.  While I was talking to her, the cardinal came to the bird feeder and I feel like it was a sign from Bill to get her. Noelle did well in the car and is starting to settle in.  She's in our front bathroom and Raz and Allie are VERY curious!  She's still a bit scared but I did get her to purr.   Please welcome Noelle!  (thanks to Stephanie for suggesting  the name....purrfect for a Christmas kitty)

Photo Hunters Socks and Caturday Cat Art - The Night Before Christmas

This week's Photo Hunters theme is  SOCKS.

Today is Christmas Eve.  Tonight, after we go to sleep, the big guy in the Red Suit comes and brings us PRESENTS and TREATS if he missed our naughty times.  We're so excited!!

It might not be a regular SOCK but Allie is checking our her Stocking to make sure it's ready for Santa...

We've all hung our SOCKS!

Ellie and Allie make sure the Nativity is ready for the Baby Jesus....

We're taking turns under the tree to be on the lookout for presents....

Raz is on the lookout for Santa outside....

The Angel stockings are hung on the fireplace.   Hey.....look at all those Snow Freaks!  Our pals Frank and Ernest wouldn't like to see them!

We're going to try to go to sleep early so Santa has plenty of time to fill our stockings and put our gifts under the tree.

Today is also Caturday Cat Art Blog Hop.

We are sharing a fun JibJab video that Raz, Allie, Mauricio, Sammy and Gracie did....we hope it makes you smile!   Click HERE to see it.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas The Night Before Catmas

    Twas the night before Catmas
 When all through the house
 Not an animal was stirring,
 Not even the mouse.

 The kitties were snuggled
 And tucked in their beds,
 While visions of cat goodies
 Danced in their heads.

 Their stockings were hung
By the cat bowls with care,
 In hope that Father Catmas
 Soon would be there.

 Out on the rooftop
 There arose such a hissing,
 I knew Father Catmas
 Was having trouble parking.

 I jumped on the couch,
Stuck my nose to the curtain.
 "Here he is!", I purred
 "It is him, I'm certain."

What to my deep blue eyes
 Should appear,
 But Father Catmas himself
 In his Catsled gear.

 He purred and he purredred,
But through the kitty door he went,
Then stopped and smelled the air
As he picked up a scent.

The cat cookies we left him
 Were by the back door.
 The kitties had baked them
 Not an hour before.

 He went about his work
 With never a sigh,
 Filling the stockings
 With toys piled high.

 He waved at me
 With his mighty paw.
 Although I was hiding,
'Twas my little nose he saw.

Out the kitty door he went
 In oh such a rush,
 Jumped on his catsled
 And yelled out, "MUSH!"

The eight Maine Coon cat team
 Were raring to go.
 They hated 'stand stay',
 Especially in the snow.

 I could hear him hissing
 As he disappeared that night,
 "Merry Catmas to all!
 OK team, turn rrrrright!"

Raz and his pals Gracie and Sammy have been busy helping Santa!  Click HERE to see their JibJab.

If you haven't seen it before, Sammy, Gracie, Madi, Mauricio and Allie worked in Santas work Twerk shop too!  Click HERE to see them.

Santa's almost here.....

Finally.....the night we've been waiting for....Santa's on his way!!!

All of the preparations are done....

The tree is up....

The Nativity set is out... (notice baby Jesus is a red tabby kitty)

Stockings are hung....Raz has his first stocking!!

The Christmas Village is ready....

Raz is watching the "survivors" tree.  That's a special tree decorated with ornaments that survived the fire that Mom lost most of her Christmas things in a couple of years ago.

Our Angel kitties are not forgotten....their stockings are hung on the mantle.

Allie is listening for Santa....

Ellie says she'll relieve Allie on Santa watch...

Hey.......is that HIM????

Cousin Trooper is dreaming of Santa and good things....especially good health for his Mom.  She's had a really rough week.
