Sunday Selfies

We're pawticipating in The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies today.

Earlier in the week, Mom went to a special lunch event at the Brevard Zoo.  Our zoo is really pawsome and lots of the residents wanted to take selfies.  We'll be sharing them with you in the next few weeks.

Today's selfie was taken by Cheyenne!  She's a bear that was recently rescued and came to live at the zoo. Here's her story....

you might want to biggify to read her story better.

At first, Cheynne kept getting distracted with these boxes.  The zoo staff puts treats in them and Cheyenne loves to rip the boxes apart and get to the treats.  Hey.........we do that too!!

Finally, she figured it out!!  We think she did a great job with her first selfie.

Thank goodness Cheyenne found a long term new home where she is safe. It is great too that her life is described forhumans to understand what she likes and needs and how her actions relate to her environment and nature.
Takes a great selfie too!

Oh my. She did do a great job. Mom said she never got to go to a zoo there when she lived in Palm Bay and Melbourne. Maybe it's newer than she is :-) We guess it's in Cocoa?

It is really a GREAT Zoo, and I seem to remember it once was recognized as one of the "Best Small Zoo's" in the US ... not sure which year tho ... they
have really done an outstanding job ... a favorite with the "grands" was always feeding the lorikeets.

We are so happy that Cheyenne has a nice home at the zoo - we hate to think about what could have happened to her because of her being too accustomed to humans. Hey, she has a Kong toy like we do:)

WHAT an amazing bear. I am glad she is OK. I saw a Sun Bear at the zoo here. It was so thought provoking to see.

I hear a lot about American people wanting to have a wolf, then they realise it's NOT a dog and needs a LOT more care so they end up dumped. People are SO stupid - right?

Our mom loves bears, and Cheyenne certainly is a good looking one. We are not surprised that she was distracted by the treats, but she did a great job with her selfie. Thanks for sharing. Love and smooches to Allie from Mau and purrs and whisker kisses to Noelle from Sawyer.
