The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

If you need to catch up on any episodes you've missed, click HERE.

Periwinkle was so excited about the adventure she was going to have with Stinky today.  She hoped his Mom remembered to pack the extra clothes she asked her for.  Stinky's Mom promised to put them in a package so Stinky wouldn't have any idea what he was bringing with him.  This was going to be such fun!!!

All of a sudden she heard the familiar WOOOSH! Her special guy was almost here!

Stinky barreled out of the teleporter with a package in his paws. After the two tabbies hugged and shared whisker kisses Stinky said "Hey Periwinkle, what's going on?  Mom said I had to bring this with me!"  Periwinkle smiled and told Stinky that she had big plans for them today but, first, they had to go into the teleporter together again.  Off they went to start their adventure.

When they came out of the teleporter, Stinky was really surprised.  They were in New York City.  He knew this was a special night in the City because it was New Year's Eve.  Periwinkle explained that she had arranged a special tour of the preparations.   First they saw the big lights that were going up to announce 2020!

Periwinkle told Stinky the store about the amazing Waterford Crystal ball that would drop at midnight.

"The 2020 Waterford Crystal geodesic sphere that will descend at 1 Times Square  arrived at 11 a.m. Friday in preparation for the annual celebration.
The New Year’s Eve ball — 12 feet in diameter, weighing 11,875 pounds and covered with 2,688 crystal triangles — will be illuminated by a hefty 32,256 LED lights when it takes its trip to say bye-bye to 2019 at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday.
Seven-foot-tall numerals signifying “2020” — containing a total of 618 LED bulbs — arrived in Times Square earlier this month. At 6 p.m. New Year’s Eve, the ball will be lit up and raised high above Midtown before the big midnight drop. The first ball-lowering took place in 1907, though the first Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration took place in 1904."
Stinky was impurressed and, like any curious tabby, had a question for Periwinkle.  "Periwinkle, would it be possible for us to climb up to see the ball up close?"   Stinky had anticipated this question and said a resounding YES!  Off they went to climb up to the top.

"Stinky, this is fun but I'm a little scared, could we go back down?"  "Sure Periwinkle, it's kind of scary for me too"   The two held paws and made their way back down.

"Periwinkle, this has been fun but you still haven't explained the package I brought with me,"  Periwinkle told him it was time he found out and suggested that he head to the ManCat litterbox and open it up.  He would know what to do.  In the meantime, she headed to the LadyCat litterbox with her own backage.

When he came back, dressed in fancy clothes he took one look at Periwinkle and said "YEOWZA!"

I'm glad you like my dress.....you're looking very handsome yourself!!

"Periwinkle, I still don't understand why we are all dressed up."   Periwinkle explained that as much as the tabbies would have liked to spend New Year's Eve together to watch the ball drop in Time's Square, they knew their families would want them home.  Before they headed home, she made reservations at a special restaurant for them so they could have an early dinner together.  She even made sure they had plenty of Fancy Feast on the menu.

Two held paws through dinner and took their time because they didn't want the day to end. Eventually, it was time for them to return to the teleporter and to their homes.

"Stinky, I am going to try to stay up till midnight and watch the ball drop.  I'll be thinking of you and sending whisker kisses to you."   "Periwinkle, I will do the same."  In case their Moms were not awake at midnight, they wrote down the website for the live stream  https://timessquareball.net/

After more hugs and whisker kisses, Periwinkle and Stinky got into the teleporter.  They held paws and hugged all the way to their homes.   Needless to say, their fursibs were very surprised to see them dressed so formally.  Both Periwinkle and Stinky just smiled and thought about their special day together and how happy they were to start 2020 as Boyfriend and Girlfriend.
