The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Periwinkle was so excited because it was Tuesday and that meant Stinky was on his way for another adventure!  She stood next to the Teleportation Tunnel listening for the familiar WOOSH.  She hoped Stinky liked what she had planned for the day.  At first, she was a little unsure about what they were going to do because of his seizures but her Mom made sure to research it and said it was okay.

In a few seconds, she heard the WOOOSH and Stinky tumbled out into her paws.  They both giggled, hugged, and shared whisker kisses.  "Hey Periwinkle, I know it's not your birthday again, so what's with the hat?" asked Stinky.  Periwinkle explained that today was Felt Hat Day so she got them both hats to wear on their adventure.  Stinky put his on and Periwinkle told him how handsome and debonair he looked.  Of course, Stinky blushed but was secretly happy.  "So, is this what we're doing?  Wearing hats?" "No silly" replied Periwinkle.  Today is also Dot Day and we're going to find that elusive red dot."  Stinky looked a little worried and Periwinkle told him that her Mom did research and the red dot doesn't cause seizures plus she was pretty sure it was hiding and they wouldn't exert too much effort. "It's kind of like finding Easter Eggs" she explained.  Always ready for fun, Stinky was ready to go.

"Hey look, there's one!" exclaimed Stinky.

"I found one too," said Periwinkle!

Both Tabbies agreed that finding the one on Periwinkle's Mom's bed was harder but they persevered and found it!  Can you see it?

They both found the one on the sofa at the same time and laughed and high five pawed!

Continuing their search the found one on the pumpkin by the Halloween mat

and another on the scratcher.  Periwinkle explained that this was a special scratcher because the Florida Furkids won it in a giveaway that Sparkle (who came before Summer) had.  Periwinkle said the scratcher gets used a lot and most nights her alter-ego, Noelle, sleeps on it.

"This is fun Periwinkle, but I'm getting a little tired, lets see if we can find a place for a quick nap"  Periwinkle found another dot in the Halloween house and they decided that was the purrfect napping spot.

After their nap, the two headed out to their favorite spot outside for a snack.

Soon it was time for Stinky to head home.  Periwinkle's Mom thanked him again for the beautiful scrapbook he made for her with the great memories of Allie.  Along with Raz, they all had leaky eyes thinking of Allie but smiled when they thought of her being with Mauricio.

After sharing whisker kisses, hugs, paw pats, and headbonks, Stinky reluctantly got into the Teleportation Tunnel and with a WOOSH was on his way home.  Periwinkle started counting the hours until they would be together again.

Wow, we are impurrsed that you found the one on the bed. That had to be quite a challenge. Stinky hasn’t practiced his red dot skills in a while. That was nice of Mom Sharon to research about dot chasing, as our mom has always worried that might not be a good thing for Stinky to do; though, he did it a lot when he was a youngster. It is more of a winter activity here for when the kitties can’t get out to the catio. Stinky thanks Periwinkle for a fun time! He particularly liked the hat! Sawyer sends whisker kisses and purrs to Noelle.

Felt Hat Day! Well, I never!
Now, I must dig through the closet to find the felt hat with the long feather that I purchased many years ago; last time I wore it, it was for Kate and William's wedding!
Those red dots are elusive; glad Periwinkle and Stinky had fun chasing them!

What a great adventure - those red dots are HARD to find unless they're moving around......I am always chasing mine - especially in the morning with my Mom. It's something we do EVERY morning and she says it's good exercise for me - I say it's just plain FUN!

Hugs, Teddy

We love finding the red dot at our house and it is kind of mystifying that there are so many of them at a lot of our friends houses. You both did a wonderful job and we sure enjoyed you bringing us all along. See you next time
