The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Periwinkle was glad that Stinky figured out how they could both teleport to the same destination at the same time.  She had those same butterflies in her stomach (no, she did not eat any) because her special boyfriend, Stinky was on his way.

WOOOSH and he was there! They spent time hugging and sharing whisker kisses. "I'm glad you wore your hat and scarf because, even though we will be inside, it's COLD"  Stinky was intrigued.  "What are we doing here?  It's a really beautiful building"  Periwinkle explained that last week their fursibs Cat Scout Raz and Cat Scout Cooper Murphy watched a video about Antarctica.  Both Scouts were disappointed that they didn't really see penguins.  "I figured we could visit some penguins today and then show our fursibs the photos we take.  The Como Zoo Conservatory has lots of them."  Stinky said that was a good idea.   "Let's go in," said Periwinkle.

Immediately, both tabbies were excited to be greeted by penguins!

Periwinkle said "here are some fun facts about Penguins"

Fun Facts

  • Penguins can swim up to 15 miles per hour underwater.
  • Penguins cannot fly.
  • Black-footed penguins can dive up to 100 feet to catch fish.
  • Penguin bones are heavier than those of most birds. This helps them dive in the water.
Stinky was impurressed by Periwinkl'e knowlege of Penguins.  She blushed when he told her that and said "lets head over to see the other penguins"   Paw in paw the went to where a penguin was looking into a big aquarium.

They spent a few minutes watching the penguins enjoy their swim!

Suddenly, Stinky ran off meowing "BOX!!"  Periwinkle ran after him and watched him hop in with a penguin!

"Oh Stinky, you sure know how to make me smile," said Periwinkle.  Now he blushed!  "How about a snack?  I'm starting to get hungry" said Stinky.  The two headed to the restaurant for a nice lunch of Fancy Feast on a bed of catnip.

After their snack, they hung out with some of the penguins for a bit.
Before they left for home, they stopped at the Gift Shop to buy something for their Moms.

They both chose penguin slipper socks to bring home.
Soon it was time to head home. They spent some time sharing whisker kisses , holding paws and paw pats  Stinky said he had a great time and Periwinkle was pleased.  Of course, they both agreed that anywhere they went was fun because they were together.  Into the teleportation tunnels they left, blowing kisses at each other, they headed home.  Both Perwinkle and Stinky couldn't wait till next week!

Oh what a wonderful visit these two had this week. I absolutely ADORE penguins and so does my Mom. She thinks they are wonderful creatures and that they have a sweet "family" dynamic. Mom and Dad penguin take care of their family together. Those slippers are REALLY adorable. Good choice of a souvenir for the Moms!

Hugs, Teddy

What fun....Stinky and Periwinkle. I love penguins. Before COVID I watched Georgia Aquarium on Animal plant. My favorite part was several days a week before the Aquarium open they let the penguins walk around the area closest to their enclosure. They were so funny

Mom always likes to know where Stinky is, so she had to look up the Como Zoo to find out he was in St. Paul. We all think penguins are really cool; though, we have heard they are quite stinky. Ha, ha! We just realized what we said. Anyhoo...another fun adventure for our fursib. He is one lucky kitty to have such a great girlfriend and get to travel to so many neat places. Sawyer sends Noelle paw hugs and whisker kisses. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet

That sure was an interesting outing! Penguins are fun to watch! Sort of clumsy out of water but lithe and splendid as they dive and swim so agilely!
