The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Pacing back and forth in front of the Teleportation Tunnel, Periwinkle counted the seconds until her boyfriend, Stinky, would show up.  As always, she was super excited to see him.  She hoped he would like their Adventure this week.

Periwinkle heard the familiar WOOOOSH and stepped back a bit so Stinky could land right into her paws.  The two were thrilled to see each other and spent some time paw patting and whisker kissing.  After a while Periwinkle said "I hope you like what we're doing today" to which Stinky replied that everything they did together was fun.  "Great!  We're going to a walk in the park."  Stinky looked a bit disappointed because they have done so many exciting things and just going for a walk didn't sound like too much fun.  Seeing his expression, she told him he she was pretty sure he would like it.

The two hopped into Periwinkle's Mom's car for the short drive to the park.

As soon as they arrived, Stinky agreed that this looked like a cool place!

The first thing they did was to go up to the boardwalk to see the lake and the fountains.

"Are we going swimming" asked Stinky?   Periwinkle pointed to a sign and he immediately decided that swimming was NOT a good idea.

They did look into the water and this turtle welcomed them to the park. If you biggify, you can see the fishies swimming next to him.

Moving along they saw another sign that told them what kind of wildlife could possibly live in the park.
One of the signs explained that the area was a Gopher Tortoise Habitat.   Stinky asked if that was what they saw in the lake.  Periwinkle explained that the Gopher Tortoise doesn't go into the water.  Stinky read the sign which told more about the Gopher Tortoise.

They heard some talking and saw two tortoises coming out of their nest.

The tabbies stopped to chat with them and soon some of their other friends came by.

After a bit, they wandered farther down the path.  Stinky spotted a large wooden pen which Periwinkle explained was a cool game called Gaga ball.  They both giggled at the name.

Stinky also spotted a big tunnel and ran to it and, of course, had to go inside.

Stinky also used some of the exercise equipment.   Periwinkle said he didn't have to exercise because he was such a fit ManCat.  Stinky blushed but was pleased to hear her say that.

Periwinkle told Stinky that there was a lot of history here.  "The Ais Indians lived here many years ago" she said and showed him a sign as well as a wood carving that explained some of the history.  (you may need to biggify these to read them too.)

As they continued their walk, they stopped to talk to some ducks and to watch some birds.  "I sure like live BirdTV" said Stinky

Soon it was time for them to head to Periwinkle's house.  They sat on the back porch and enjoyed a snack.  Stinky told Periwinkle that he was not disappointed at all since they saw so many cool things and he even learned a bit about the Ais Indians.

After their snacks, they spent some time visiting with Periwinkle's brofur Raz and her Mom.  They had some time together for whisker kisses and headbonks and soon Stinky entered the Teleportation Tunnel to head home.  With a tear in his eye, he waved from the Tunnel and WOOOSH, he was on his way home.   Periwinkle was glad he enjoyed the day and decided to find a nice sun puddle to take a nap. She knew she would have sweet dreams of him when she napped.

Stinky told us this was one of the best adventures ever. We are all jealous, as we would have liked to have visited this cool place and met all the wildlife. He is super happy they did not encounter any alligators. We better keep an eye on Stinky or he might just move to Florida and live with Periwinkle and Raz. Thanks for taking us along for a fun time.
