The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky #Giving Tuesday

Periwinkle waited by the Teleportation Tunnel for Stinky's arrival.  It seemed like such a long time since they visited and she knew his Mom and Dad were away for Thanksgiving and she wanted to know what his caretakers were like.   With a rumble and a WOOOSH, Stinky tumbled out of the Teleportation Tunnel right into her waiting paws.  They both giggled and spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting.  Stinky told her that Chris and Etna took great care of them but he really missed his Mom and Dad.  Periwinkle gave him an extra hug.   After a bit, he asked what they were doing for their Adventure.

"Today we're doing two things"  she replied.  Stinky jumped up and down and asked where they were headed.  Periwinkle answered that they were staying at her house, looked out the window, and pointed to the driveway.  Stinky let out a gasp and said "OH MY COD, are those dead bodies?"  Periwinkle laughed and explained that those were the two Christmas trees and they were going to help put up decorations.  Stinky breathed a big sigh of relief when he heard that.

Along with Reesie and Raz the tabbies started decorating.  Raz started putting away the Thanksgiving decorations...

Reesie and Periwinkle got out the box of decorations...
Periwinkle and Stinky both stopped to admire the trees with their lights on.

Stinky decided to help Raz pick out the right rugs...

As they finished up their part of the decorating, Stinky asked what part two of the Adventure was.  Periwinkle reminded him that today is Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday started in 2012 and is a day where people can either donate, volunteer or help a neighbor.  Even sharing a smile with a stranger is giving. Today, she told him, they were going to share some rescues and shelters that our pals might want to help out.   There are so many worthy places" asked Stinky.  Periwinkle said that she made a list of some of the shelters and rescues that friends who won comment-a-thons had suggested.   "Great idea!" he replied.

First, let's share the site for our pals at PAWS in CT.  Most of you know our friends at Animal Shelter Volunteer Life.   They feature lots of adoptable kitties on their blog.

Of course, as Tabby Cats, we have to share Tabby's Place!  You can donate or you can Sponsor a cat waiting for adoption.

Alley Cat Allies would be another good choice.  They do a lot to help feral cat colonies.

Periwinkle said "Our buddy Angel Sammy was adopted from Fauquier SPCA where his Mom and Dad adopted him from and then Teddy.  Periwinkle said her brofur Raz came from Space Coast Feline Network.   "Wow Periwinkle, there are lots of great places to donate, aren't there?  I'll bet any of these would appreciate a donation," said Stinky.  Periwinkle agreed and said she was sure there were tons more.
Both tabbies were getting hungry so they headed out to their favorite spot by the pool for a snack of Temptations and Fancy Feast.

They giggled and held paws while they snacked.   Stinky and Periwinkle were excited about Santa coming and talked about their houses' decorations.  Stinky visited with Periwinkle's Mom for a bit and then headed to the Teleportation Tunnel to return home.  "This was fun!  I hope we helped someone decide to donate today!"  Periwinkle agreed and they both were grateful that they found their Furever families without having to live in a shelter.  Then, with a WOOSH, off he went!  Periwinkle smiled and hoped somebody who read their adventure would do something special for #GivingTuesday!

How fun to put away the Thanksgiving decorations and putting up the Christmas decorations.

I donate to Paws too. A wonderful place that loves taking care of kitties.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the kitties and my best to your moms. ♥

Lulu: "I think that's why you aren't going to get that job."

What a Smart idea to give folks ideas for where to donate. Mom will give some green papers today to PAWS, Tabby’s Place, Helen Woodward and some local rescue/shelters. We are all so lucky to have good homes, and it is so important to help others. Sawyer sends all his love, paw hugs and purrs to Noelle. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh

What a wonderful time you two must have had decorating the trees at Raz's house. Giving Tuesday is a GREAT day to celebrate and we want to thank you two for mentioning the SPCA where I came from and where Mom and Dad adopted Angel Sammy before me. All of the shelters EVERYWHERE are in need of donations so we hope everyone supports their local shelter or ANY shelter!

Hugs to you two!
Teddy

That's the best kind of adventure, making the house all sparkly for the holidays!

We're strapped with trying to pay for car repairs again, my giving will have to continue to be working at the shelter on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Now that you are done there, can you come here and help cleaning up so the Christmas things can come out??

Great to give to those in need, such as all those shelters.
