Periwinkle sat next to the Teleportation Tunnel and did extra grooming to her furs while waiting for her boyfriend, Stinky, to arrive. She always wanted to look her best for him. Suddenly she saw the Tunnel shake and with a WOOOSH, out tumbled Stinky into her waiting paws. The two spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting and catching up on the week's events. Finally, Stinky asked what they were going to do. Once again, he asked about the Manatees and she said they were not around since there were record-high temperatures that week.
"We need to get back into the Tunnel for our Adventure," she said as she took his paw into hers and led him to the Tunnel. With a WOOSH, they headed to their destination.
When they popped out it took a minute for Stinky to figure out where they were. Since they were both rescue tabby cats, he was unfamiliar with the Cat Fancier's Association. Periwinkle explained that her angel fursibs, Sniffie, Cory, Ellie and Allie were all registered with CFA and were even show cats at one time. Also, her Mom and Auntie El were cat show vendors and did lots of CFA shows. "Are we here for a cat show?" asked Stinky. Periwinkle explained that they were going to the Feline Historical Foundation today. "The Cat Fanciers' Association Foundation, Inc. (CFA Foundation) was created in 1990 by the Cat Fanciers' Association, Inc. (CFA) as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization to collect and record the history of the cat and the cat fancy. Today, the mission of the CFA Foundation is to "acquire and conserve the history of cats and show the development of the cat fancy through the acquisition of fine art, artifacts, and literature."
Both were in awe of the grand entrance.
Stinky asked Periwinkle about the red house on display. Of course, she had info on the structure..."The unusual abode has a flat roof for sunbathing, a flagpole and a few toys dangling from its eaves. Although legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s firm is credited with designing the structure, the home’s resident couldn’t have cared less. In his defense, Felinus Tonkens was a cat.
“It’s an outdoor piece. It’s not a litter pan. It was more like a home for the cat to get out of the elements. The whimsical detail was added to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Gerald Tonkens house in Cincinnati, after the home’s owner requested a residence be created for the family pet.
The 4-foot-square piece is heavy, built with solid wood and painted in a bright Cherokee red. The angular, space-age-looking structure features a string of bells hanging from one corner and a colorful ball from another.
Heading through the museum, they saw the silver collar of the cat who won America’s first cat show in 1895
They entered the doll room and Periwinkle explained the collection of cat dolls housed in what once was the Midland-Buckeye’s bank vault. Inside this room, you will find cats dressed up as kings and queens, brides and grooms, and even recognizable characters like Cinderella. They passed by copies of the Cat Gazette...
And a display of Siamese cats. At this point, Stinky couldn't help himself and jumped up to join the display.
She quickly steered him away from the display of vintage PTUs since she knew what he does in the PTU. She did tell him that that red one of the floor was just like the one they have that her brofur Raz got his last PTU Pooper badge in. Stinky giggled when he heard that and said "GO RAZ!"
"STINKY!!! Get Down PLEASE" said Periwinkle when she saw him on the display of Maneki-Neko cats.
She told him a little bit about the room. "An entire room in the museum is devoted to maneki-neko cats, the perpetually waving Japanese talismans. Dozens of examples are on display, each with a paw raised in everlasting greeting: a cat that inexplicably resembles a poodle, a cat with a clock in its belly, a set of cat nesting dolls, a cat in the shape of a teapot, its beckoning arm outstretched to form the spout. A ceramic pea pod is filled with pea-size cats, a set of chopsticks poised creepily within reach" As always, he was impurressed with her knowledge.
They wandered around and saw more cat photos and sculptures. Periwinkle said they showcase different breeds during the year.
And another practicing Agility. Periwinkle thought Stinky would be good at Agility.
Soon it was time for them to head back to Periwinkle's house. Paw in Paw, they entered the Tunnel and with a WOOSH were transported back. They visited with Periwinkle's fursibs for a bit and enjoyed a snack on the back patio.
After some more whisker kissing and paw patting, Stinky entered the Teleportation Tunnel to head home. Periwinkle went to hang out with her fursibs and think about her pawsome boyfriend and start counting the days until their next Adventure!

Wow, Periwinkle, My mom is sure going to be jealous that I got to visit this cool place and she didn’t. She looked up see where it is, thinking maybe my dad will take her there. I love to see cool collections of cat items. It lets us know just how revered we are. I am thinking we won’t get to see the manatees this year, but it will give me something to look forward to for next year. Thanks for finding another cool place for us to visit. Love and even more whisker kisses, Stinky 💓😻💋

What a perfect place for two adventurous cats to visit! Lots of interesting displays there for sure......AND even a "real" kitty who might just be in charge of security there right?
