As she did when it was her turn to host an Adventure, Periwinkle got up early that morning to make sure everything was ready. They weren't going very far and her Mom was driving them instead of taking the Teleportation Tunnel. She had her eyes on the Tunnel since she was waiting for Stinky's arrival. Very soon, the tunnel shook and with a WOOOSH, out popped Stinky. She ran up to him and they hugged and shared whisker kisses. After a time, Stinky asked if they were going back in the tunnel. Periwinkle explained that they were only going to Cape Canaveral. Stinky asked if they were going to see a rocket launch and, giggling, Periwinkle said no but she thought they would have fun.
The two piled into Periwinkle's Mom's car to head to the destination. Of course, they took advantage of the time for more whisker kisses and paw pats.
Soon they arrived at their destination and hopped out of the car. Periwinkle told her Mom she would call her when they were ready to return.
"Wow, this looks like a fun place to visit" said Stinky. Periwinkle took his paw and they entered the Wizard of Oz Museum.
Periwinkle had arranged for their tickets earlier and handed Stinky his and a brochure as they walked in the door.
Periwinkle told Stinky, "Boasting one of a kind collection of rare and unique artifacts from the story’s remarkable history, guests can journey down the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and her beloved comrades exploring Oz’s early days as a best-selling children’s book series first envisioned by the imagination of legendary author L. Frank Baum, to the iconic MGM film starring Judy Garland, to modern pop-culture sensations, such as THE WIZ and WICKED and beyond."
One of the first things they saw was Dorothy's dress and the famous red shoes.
Moving along, they spotted the characters like the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy, the Tin Man, and Scarecrow. They stopped to take a selfie with them.
Periwinkle explained that there was an Immersive Van Gogh exhibit as well as the Wizard of Oz one. They decided to start with the Oz one.
They did check out a couple of the Van Gogh ones and thought it might be fun to come back for them sometime.
As they continued, they both gasped when they saw the Wicked Witch and the Flying Monkeys!
They also saw a display of the puppets. Periwinkle said "Wizard of Oz museum is the display of 1950s puppets related to the Wizard of Oz theme. On display are original backdrops and over 30 puppets from performances in the Chicago area. These puppets were custom-made by famous veteran puppeteer Bill Eubank. Bill was a member of the International Wizard of Oz Club"
Looking around, Periwinkle got nervous because she couldn't find Stinky. She called his name and he called back to her. As she followed his voice, she started laughing when she found him. "You should get down before the staff sees you since I am SURE you shouldn't be up there" she said.
As always, they decided to visit the gift shop to bring something home for their Moms. They both chose T-shirts for their gifts.
Soon it was time to head back to Stinky's house. Periwinkle called her Mom who came right away. They then visited with Periwinkle's fursibs and had a snack on the back deck.
After more whisker kisses and paw pats, Stinky entered the Teleportation Tunnel, blew a kiss, and headed home. Periwinkle went to find her fursibs to tell them about the fun Adventure she and Stinky had.

What a fun adventure! I've read all 14 of the books Baum wrote for the series, plus some of his other children's books, he had an amazing imagination.
We attended the Van Gogh immersive when it was in a city near here and loved it. You might consider going back to it, it's worth it.

We didn’t even know this place existed. One would think it would be in Kansas. Looks like the two had fun. Our mom hopes the two will return for the Van Gogh exhibit. The museum looks like fun - and so does the Van Gogh exhibit.
