The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Periwinkle was excited and slightly concerned about the Adventure she had planned for the day.  She knew it was a good event but hoped Stinky would not be bored.  As she sat next to the tunnel wondering, it shook and with the familiar WOOOSH, out tumbled Stinky right into her waiting paws.

Immediately, both tabbies handed the other a note.  They giggled when they realized that they knew it was Love Note Day!

Stinky handed Periwinkle his first...

Then Periwinkle gave Stinky hers...

They both smiled and thanked the other and spent some time paw patting and whisker kissing and telling each other how much they loved and appreciated each other.

Finally, Stinky asked what they were doing that day.  Periwinkle said they had an important message they needed to share with their readers.  "Thursday is Remember Me Thursday and I think it would be nice to let our friends know more about it" said Periwinkle.

They went to the laptop that Periwinkle's fursib Reesie started up for them...

They thanked her and signed on to the Remember Me Thursday website...
They both agreed there was important information there to share.  Periwinkle said "Remember Me Thursday" is an annual pet adoption awareness campaign and event that takes place on the fourth Thursday in September. It was initiated by the Helen Woodward Animal Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to animal welfare. The campaign's primary goal is to shine a light on orphaned pets waiting for forever homes in shelters and rescue organizations around the world."

Periwinkle explained that there were various ways to pawticipate like Awareness and Advocacy "Remember Me Thursday encourages individuals and pet-related organizations to share their rescue and adoption stories on social media using the hashtag #RememberMeThursday.
  • Pet Adoption Stories which would be sharing your adoption story or your fursibs and the candle lighting ceremony."
They also watched a video
Of course, both tabbies agreed that adopting a pet would be the purrfect way to celebrate the day. They were so thankful that they had great homes and purrayed that others would too. They also planned on lighting candles on the 28th for awareness. They made sure they saved the link for candle lighting. (Click HERE to light your own on the 28th)

Periwinkle went on to say that the campaign also encourages people to donate to their local animal shelters or rescue organizations or to get involved through volunteer work.

Stinky agreed that, even though they stayed at Periwinkle's house, this was an important event and he was glad their followers would have time to check it out.

The two decided to have a snack before it was time for Stinky to leave.

He admired the fall decorations that Perwinkle's Mom had put up.

After spending time with Periwinkle's fursibs and taking a quick nap, it was time for Stinky to head home.  He blew a whisker kiss to Periwinkle and entered the tunnel.

Those were such sweet love notes!! I had not ever heard of this day...hmmm...I learned something new!😀

Us pups remember the days of waiting in the shelter(s) we were in until *that* special day came...hooray!

Petcretary brings things to our vet who in turn gives them to a lady who runs the shelter that Dalton came from...and sometimes for his own shelter for unadoptable cats. (Froggy's Pond)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Love note day...what a fine event to celebrate. It amazes me how very few people actually handwrite notes now a days. I recently rec'd a very nice thank you note from Will, a 17 y.o. young man. His Mom is teaching her two children the importance of saying thank you with a personal note.

Charlee: "Ooh, yes, we are all rescues from the shelter here—"
Oona: "Except Oona! Oona was a rescue from a rescue!"
Charlee: "—so we are definitely in favor of this 'Remember Me Thursday'!"
Chaplin: "Does that mean Dada is going to do a post for it?"
Charlee: "Well he will probably forget. But we are still in favor of it."

What a wonderful adventure. You two do the coolest things and you both have the coolest moms.

We are feeding a kitty in our backyard. It's getting friendlier and friendlier and we're hoping we can make him/her a inside kitty.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to you both and a hug to your moms. ♥

Only Robin was chosen from her mommy when she was weaned. Hopping John too, Now Mom remembers that. The rest of us were rescued off the street. Except me, I was rescued from foster home.

Periwinkle, I am sorry I am getting here so late to leave a comment. Mom took Raleigh and Audrey for their annual vet visit. The vet said that they are both overweight. Shortly after she got home I had a seizure. That was another two hours down the tubes. I did make it 8 days though. Anyhoo, this was a great adventure. Mom and I had never heard about Love Note day prior to this. I am happy we were able to write each other notes. I'm happy we also were able to remind everyone about Remember Me Thursday. I am sending you all my love and bunches of paw hugs, Sawyer 💖

Well Mom and I weren't familiar with Love Note Day but it was certainly a PERFECT day for you two to celebrate it! We know tomorrow is Remember Me Thursday. We always make a donation to our local shelter where I came from and Angel Sammy came from. We wish every animal who is homeless could have a wonderful and loving home - safe and secure.

Hugs, Teddy
