Years ago I went to a Christmas party at the home of a professor I worked with. I noticed something in the ceiling and very thin wire running from it to the top of the tree. They had a hollow wall screw in the ceiling the fishing line attached in 4 places to keep the tree upright. He had 2 cats and several grandchildren all with curious paws. None of that silly business happens at my house because my Momma laid down the law the day our tree went up. So far everyone is behaving themselves except Candy who insists she must chew on the end of the branches with flox on them. Momma told her if she gets the barfies, she won't feel sorry for her.
My Mom says she's mighty happy that none of her kitties have ever climbed up in a Christmas tree.....we prefer being on the ground UNDER the tree enjoying a private place with peace and quiet! Climbing in the tree must be fun though!!!

Now we know what it's like when a tree falls over in the house. There's lots of noise that goes with it.

It's funny, but it also explains why I do not have a tree here.
