Periwinkle woke up and lounged in her bed when she remembered it was Tuesday. She hopped out, groomed her furs, and ran to the Teleportation Tunnel to await the arrival of her boyfriend. Stinky. She didn't have to wait long because the tunnel started to shake and, with a WOOSH, he popped out. They spent time whisker kissing, paw patting, and catching up on the events of the last week. Periwinkle mentioned that they were having record heat at her house so they were staying there in the cool air conditioning. Stinky was fine with that since it was much hotter than it was at his house.
Before Stinky could even ask what their plan was, Periwinkle said "I know we've done this before, but it's impawtent to remind our readers that hurricane season starts June 1. Many of our readers live in areas where they could be impacted by a storm."
"I'm glad none of them are our names," said Stinky. They giggled at the thought of Hurricane Periwinkle or Hurricane Stinky but also didn't want to be associated with anything bad.
Having done her research, Periwinkle began to outline things that should be done to prepare. "First, don't wait till the last minute. Your Moms and Dads should start getting things before there is a huge rush. Nobody wants to run out of noms or litter in a storm." Stinky agreed and added "and treats! It would be awful not to have treats." Periwinkle smiled because she knew how much he liked treats. Stinky was impurressed by the amount of canned and dry noms Periwinkle had. She told him that her Mom was obsessed with making sure there were plenty of cans of food since the shortage during Covid. You should also make sure you rotate the food so that it doesn't expire.
Of course, water is impawtent too. You should have one gallon per person/pet per day.
"If your Mom and Dad can't do without their morning coffee, this is a cool way to make it" Periwinkle added.
"Don't forget fuel for the generator" said Stinky.
Periwinkle went on, "If you live on the coast, you might want sandbags or water barriers. Our Mom has these. You fill them with water and put them by your doors to keep water out."
"As much as we don't like being in the PTU, we need to have them handy in case we have to evacuate." Stinky also said medicines and important papers should be ready to go too. Having to take medicine for his seizures made him very aware of this.
While they had their snack they continued to talk about what needed to be done. Periwinkle had a good graphic to show what is required and added that in Florida there would be tax-free times to buy these items.
"You should also know the difference between a Hurricane watch and a warning. This is a cute way to remember for any kind of storm said Periwinkle."
All the talk about noms and treats made the tabbies hungry so Periwinkle's Mom served them some delicious Fancy Feast.
They also giggled at some cute memes about hurricanes.
After their snack, the tabbies took a short nap and then it was time for Stinky to head home. They whisker kissed, paw patted and snuggled before he had to go. Stinky entered the Teleportation Tunnel and blew a whisker kiss to Periwinkle and said "Let's hope all those storms stay FAR away." Periwinkle smiled and nodded her head in agreement. After he left, she went to her Mom and reminded her that they needed to get their kit together.

Great tips, kitties! Being ready is important! Though we're not on the coast, we're close enough to have had some remnants of hurricanes and tropical storms go through.
I REALLY like the cat 1 through cat 5 photo ...
and also your post is informative also.
Be safe!
May all the hurricanes stay out to sea. Sylvester has his extra food, water, and litter. He also has a special "go bag" in case we have to evacuate. We are a few miles inland (Palm Bay, FL) so we should be ok, but it's good to be prepared. Thank you for all the timely info.

May they not come anywhere near you. Great readiness plans. We do the same here.
I ate the tacos. Delicious.
You two always have the very best adventures. Thank you for taking us along.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to you both and my best to your moms. ♥
Good to be prepared. Hope you don't get any hurricanes this year. XO
Lots of important information here for everyone in case a storm is coming. Be "PURRPARED" is the key! What a fun but also very important visit our travelers had today.............
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
WOW this was a PURRfect post as the temps are heating up and the ocean is getting warm. We all need to be ready
Thank you Periwinkle and Stinky.
Hugs Cecilia
Periwinkle and Stinky, I haven't ever actually enjoyed reading about preparedness UNTIL today! I loved every word and every picture. And I will share it with my human family. When Mom lived in Melbourne, she and her hubby were never prepared really. (young YOUNG doofuses) The even went to the beach in Indiatlantic to watch the waves and feel the wind.
This was an excellent adventure PSA. Our mom and dad have lots of friends in Florida and worry about all of them, but especially Mom Sharon, Noelle and Reesie, when they hear about an impending storm. Sawyer sends Noelle oodles of love and whisker kisses. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
We do hope all the storms just stay out at sea this year. Meanwhile, thanks for the preparation list!
We always hope those storms stay far, far away, but it is good to be prepared. Good job with those tips, you two!
Excellent post sweeties, it always pays to be prepared!
Java Bean: "Ayyy, what was that? Did somebody say we were having tacos?"
