Today was Tuesday, and that meant Periwinkle and her fiancé, Stinky, were going to have an Adventure. Periwinkle hoped he wouldn't be disappointed that they were returning to a place they had perviously visited. She didn't have to wait long to find out. As always, Stinky arrived through the Teleportation Tunnel with a happy whoosh! Periwinkle greeted him with whisker kisses and gentle paw pats before taking his paw and guiding them back into the Tunnel.
“Stinky, today we’re going to see the biggest celebration of cats you’ve ever imagined! Remember how we went to Cat'n Around in the Catskills a few years ago?" Stinky nodded yes. "We're headed back to see the 19th Annual Cat’n Around in the Catskills to celebrate with the beautifully painted cat statues." (Click HERE if you missed that post)
The tabbies quickly spotted some of the fabulous cats. Periwinkle explained that they were made of fiberglass and all had names. They were amazed at all the designs. "This one is named Ceard.
I didn't know what that meant until I looked it up" said Periwinkle. She went on to say "Ceard" is an Irish word with roots in Old Irish, meaning "craft" or "artisan". It's related to the Proto-Celtic word *kerdā, which in turn comes from Proto-Indo-European *kerd- meaning "craft". It's also related to the word "ceird". They agreed that this guy was certainly creating something!
Stinky ran off, but Periwinkle quickly found him. He was on a cat named "Lions and Tigers and Squares." Periwinkle rolled her eyes but didn't say anything.
Paw in paw, they walked around to see the other cats. As they walked, Periwinkle explained, "The exhibit goes from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Periwinkle went up to the cat named Cat-Ba-Loo and exclaimed how pretty she thought it was. Stinky said it was pretty, but nowhere near as pretty as Periwinkle, which made Periwinkle blush.
There were so many cats to see. Periwinkle told Stinky more about the creations. " There are around 70 fiberglass cat statues, each about two feet tall! Local artists paint them and sometimes add pawsome 3D bits like hats, flowers, or whiskers using special materials so they can stay outside."

As they walked, they spotted a seafood restaurant with Koi Kitty in front. They figured that might be a good place to have lunch.
Soon it was time to return to Periwinkle's house. There were so many other cats to see but their paws were getting tired and Stinky would need to head home soon. They hopped into the Teleportation Tunnel and landed back at Periwinkle's house. They took a little time to whisker kiss and paw pat and fell asleep for a quick nap. When they woke up, Stinky visited with Periwinkle's fursibs and Mom for a bit, and he entered the Tunnel. One last whisker kiss and, with a WOOSH, he headed home. Periwinkle looked for a nice sun puddle to nap and dream of her handsome fiancé!
