Trick or Treat
We each put on a sheet
We went looking for a treat
We rang the doorbell
We waited for a spell.
Is that a cat?
We smell a rat.
Maybe it's just a mask.
We're askeered to ask!
Today is also Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop! We will be THANKFUL if Mom stays outside and our doorbell doesn't ring gazillion times with sticky people in costumes!
We're also THANKFUL that (in spite of NOT being a firstie) Mom was a right guesser (also NOT first) and won this pawsome Halloween badge for us.
It's been a busy week for our favorite tabbies. After last week's visit to Walter and the black cats (Click HERE if you missed it) they spent the week placing orders and getting donations for their annual contribution. Walter's list was long this year but they managed to get everything he requested.
While Periwinkle was checking things off the list, she heard the WOOSH and Stinky tumbled out of the Teleportation Tunnel right into her paws. After a brief time of whisker kissing and paw patting, they hopped back into the tunnel because they knew they had a lot to do. They were giggling when they entered the tunnel and hoped Walter knew who they were when they arrived.
When they popped out of the tunnel, they were immediately approached by the guard cats who watch over Walter's house. The guards wanted to know who they were since they very rarely got visits from bees and mice.
Not wanting to upset the guards, they quickly took off their masks and revealed themselves. "OH MY COD, it's Periwinkle and Stinky" the guards shouted! There were lots of hugs and greetings and the guards commented on how cute they looked in their costumes and apologized for not recognizing them. "Don't be upset, we know how careful you have to be protecting the black cats here" said Stinky.
The guards led them to the house where they were greeted by Walter. As always, they could see residents peeking out the windows.
Walter tells the tabbies that packages have been arriving all week. Periwinkle explains that they had hoped her brofur Raz could fly the Cat Scouts plane to deliver the packages but he had some tummy troubles and their Mom wanted him to stay home.
Stinky moves into action as he hears the caravan of Amazon vans pull up. He runs outside with the sign to let them know which way to go.
Periwinkle and Stinky start unloading the vans with the help of the residents and Walter.
Walter gasped as he saw so many cartons! "You two outdid yourselves this year" he said. Both tabbies said that they were fortunate to have so many good Scouting and blogging friends who were happy to donate to such a good cause.
Lots of Fancy Feast...
The beds were super popular and a couple of the residents jumped right in to try them out.
Periwinkle and Stinky even tried out the GINORMOUS cat tree!
They had pallets of litter too.
And, of course, TREATS!
"Everykitty loves treats" said Periwinkle and giggled because her brofur Raz is known as the TREAT MONSTER. Stinky giggled too because his brofur Sawyer loves treats too.
Walter was overwhelmed by what the two had done for the black cats. "You two are amazing. I always am so surprised by what you can accomplish." The tabbies blushed and said they know how important the work he did saving black cats was and wished it wasn't necessary.
It was time for them to head home but they stopped to visit with some of their friends from the previous years.
Waving goodbye to Walter and their other friends, they headed back into the Teleportation Tunnel and to Periwinkle's house. Since it was Halloween, they decided to do a little trick-or-treating before Stinky had to go home. They agreed that, as cute as their costumes were, they were a bit warm for Florida so they put on disguises and hats instead.
After they trick or treated, they watched Peaches and Paprika's Meowleen slideshow. Periwinkle's fursib Noelle was in it!
Soon it was time for Stinky to head home. They were both exhausted but agreed that it felt good to see Walter and to help the black cats. With a whisker kiss and a WOOSH, Stinky was headed home in the Tunnel. Periwinkle headed to her favorite bed for a nap and to dream of her handsome boyfriend.
