Meezer Colors Day and Toon Tuesday

I am not a Meezer, but I do have similar colors.  I am a chocolate lynx point (also called tabby) Birman.  Mom says I have AMAZING whiskers, too.

From the CFA Birman Breed Standards

CHOCOLATE TABBY POINT: body ivory with little shading. Pale body coat is desirable, preferably free from body markings; however, body shading of light ghost striping toning with the points is acceptable. Points, except for gloves, milk chocolate markings on a light bronze agouti background. Solid markings on the back of the hind legs should be a milk chocolate color, warm in tone. Tail color, with the exception of the rings, should be milk chocolate in color. Nose leather: pink to brick colored outlined in chocolate to tone with the points. A solid color nose leather to tone with the point color is acceptable.
There should be a clearly defined “M” marking on the forehead, light-colored “spectacle” markings around the eyes with spotted whisker pads. Ears are solid with no stripes. “Thumb marks,” which are less apparent in dilute colors and kittens, should be visible on the back of the ears. Ear furnishings in front of the ears should be off-white in color. The legs should have clearly defined, varied-sized broken stripes and/or rings. There should be solid markings on the back of the hind legs above the laces. A tail showing lighter and darker rings is preferred, but such markings may only occur on the underside and should not then be faulted. The tail may be ticked. The chin may be light-colored but not white. A light-colored “bow tie” should be evident just below the nose.

Today is also Toon Tuesday.  We couldn't find a Meezer toon so we hope you like this one!

Poetic Thankful Thursday

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

Today's photo prompt is

The Bingo Ladies

They come every week
Bingo is not for the meek.
You'd better pay attention
Waiting for one number causes tension
After a while, you learn the lingo
You don't want to mistakenly yell Bingo.

Mom remembers going to Bingo with her Mom and her Nana.  The die-hard players had a ton of cards
and were very serious about the game.  They had no patience for beginners.  Plus, in those days, there was a ton of smoke in the bingo hall.

Today is also Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Today we are THANKFUL for all the beautiful Birmans that we have shared our lives with.  Birmans have color points just like Siamese so, while not officially MEEZERS, they can celebrate today too!
Our newest Furkid, Reesie, is a Chocolate Lynx Point Birman.  Lynx points are also called Tabby Points.  Here is the official CFA description:

CHOCOLATE TABBY POINT: body ivory with little shading. Pale body coat is desirable, preferably free from body markings; however, body shading of light ghost striping toning with the points is acceptable. Points, except for gloves, milk chocolate markings on a light bronze agouti background. Solid markings on the back of the hind legs should be a milk chocolate color, warm in tone. A solid color nose leather to tone with the point color is acceptable.

We're very THANKFUL for our beautiful Reesie.

Meezer Colors Day!

Today is Meezer Colors Day in the Cat Blogosphere and we're celebrating. That’s when meezers around the world show their colors, handsomeness (boys) and beauty (girls).
To participate:
  • You must be a meezer, meezer bun, honorary meezer, or a feline living with or related to a meezer. A person pretending to be a cat, a meezer, or dressed in a cat suit does not count.
  • You may use objects or whatever else is handy to highlight your meezer colors.
  • Limited photoshop enhancements are permissible, such as brightness/contrast adjustments, resizing, red-eye reduction, and background scenes. If you adjust the colors of your background scenes, make sure it does not turn the color of your furs, points, and eyes to an unusual color.
We Birman Girlz have colorpoints like Meezers. The Three of us are Lilac Point Birmans. Here is the official description of a Lilac Point:

Lilac Point Birman:
The Lilac Point Birman is the dilute version of the Chocolate Point Birman and a have very delicate colouring. A good Lilac Point will have soft pink-tinged-grey points on the face, ears and tail and a cool almost pearl glow to the coat. Lilac Point Birmans come in Lilac Tabby and Lilac Tortie.

Our beautiful Angel Sniffie had Meezer colors too!
