The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Periwinkle waited by the Teleportation Tunnel for the arrival of her handsome fiancé, Stinky.  She didn't have to wait long (he was very punctual), and the familiar WOOSH and rumble sent him right to her waiting paws.  They both giggled because Stinky arrived wearing his sombrero from a previous Adventure on Cinco de Mayo. 

 

"I know it was yesterday, but I don't get much opportunity to wear my sombrero," he said.  Periwinkle told him he looked very handsome and that red was a great color for him.  The spent a couple of minutes reminiscing about that Adventure and the fun they had.  Periwinkle said how much she enjoyed listening to the band 

Stinky agreed, and they both laughed when they remembered the giant piñata! 

Periwinkle continued, "We also missed Star Wars Day.  We had lots of fun  with R2D2 and c3po!"

Stinky asked, "This is fun, but what are we doing today?"  Periwinkle replied, "Mother's Day is Sunday, so I thought we would show our friends some items they could get their Moms on short notice in case they forgot. We're also going to make cards for our Moms."  Stinky thought that was a good plan!  Periwinkle said they should shop on Amazon since there wasn't much time.  "I started a list, and I hope Mom doesn't look at her cart because I put a ton of stuff in it as possibilities," she said.  She also added that she picked items with different price points so anykitty could purchase.

After searching for gift ideas, they decided to make cards for their Moms.  Since they had fun with AI the previous week, they made their cards with AI.  Stinky made his with Dall-E...

Periwinkle used Pizap.

As with their other attempts at AI, neither cat looked like them, but they decided the cards were cute so they kept them for their Moms.   "I wonder if any of our friends have a free AI program they love?" asked Stinky.  Periwinkle wondered too and hopes that, if you have a program you like, please leave it in the comments.

They spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting and took a quick nap in a sun puddle.  Stinky visited with Periwinkle's Mom and fursibs and, with one last whisker kiss and a WOOSH, he headed home.  Periwinkle returned to their napping spot and curled up to dream of her handsome ManCat.

Sunday Selfies

 Did you know that squirrels don't like safflower seed?  Obviously, nobody told this guy.  He was even cheeky enough to take a Selfie while eating ours!!

The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

 

Periwinkle spent some time doing last-minute touch-ups on her furs while she waited for her boyfriend, Stinky to arrive.  She hoped he didn't mind what she had planned for today but her Mom was busy re-doing her office and things were hectic so she thought a quiet day together would be nice.

With a rumble and a WOOOSH, Stinky tumbled out of the Teleportation Tunnel.  As always, they spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting and catching up on the week's events.  Periwinkle told Stinky she heard his Mom found a food he liked a lot and he was getting his meds which made her happy.  She also was happy to hear that his fursib, Raleigh, had returned from his short walkabout.

Always eager to get started, Stinky asked what Periwinkle had planned for the day.  She told him they were staying at her house and were going to share some of their previous Adventures from other years for May 4 and May 5.  Instantly Stinky shouted "May the Fourth be With You" and they both giggled. 

First Periwinkle mentioned May 4 from 2021 "Remember how much fun we had meeting C3PO and R2D2?   

And then a little while later, we spotted C3PO and R2D2 again along with Luke and Princess Lei"

Stinky reminisced about having a snack with one of the cool Star Wars characters.  They both were glad he didn't like Temptations!

The next holiday would be Cinco de Mayo.  Both tabbies remembered what a hard time that was during Covid.  They were happy to see that the dancers practiced social distancing and wore masks that year.

As with every Adventure, they found a nice spot during the Fiesta to have their favorite snack, Temptations...

Looking at their photos, they remembered going over to a photo booth so they wouldn't forget to get a Memory Photo.

And they remembered the super band they heard!

Stinky mentioned he saw a great Badge on the Cat Blogosphere for Cinco de Mayo.  

Periwinkle said that all those memories about snacks and Temptations were making her hungry so the two headed to the back deck to enjoy a snack before Stinky had to return home.

They spent some time visiting with Periwinkle's fursibs and Mom and then took some time alone for whisker kisses and paw pats.  Soon it was time for Stinky to leave.  Periwinkle said she hoped he didn't mind re-living some of their past Adventures and he told her every time they are together is a special time.  With one last whisker kiss, he jumped into the Teleportation Tunnel and, with a WOOSH, was on his way home.  Smiling, Periwinkle settled into a sunny spot to think about how special her guy was!

As always, Periwinkle woke up early that day because she was so excited that Stinky was coming for an Adventure.  She hoped he liked what she had planned.

With a WOOOSH Stinky tumbled out of the Teleportation Tunnel and ran to Periwinkle.  Suddenly he stopped and started Meowing Out Loud.  Periwinkle did not look happy.  "Periwinkle, what are you wearing?   You look so silly...um....I mean cute" he said.  With a slightly perturbed tone in her voice, she said "I'm just getting in the mood for today's Adventure"  Stinky wondered what they could possibly be doing.

"I fixed my furs like Princess Leia from Star Wars,"  Stinky still didn't have any idea what the plan was.  Periwinkle told him it was May 4th.  Still confused, Stinky asked what the date had to do with anything.

"May the Fourth be with you"  she replied.   Suddenly, he realized it was Star Wars Day!

The two spent some time sharing whisker kisses and paw pats and then Periwinkle started telling Stinky about Star Wars Day.  While we are so glad that this day exists, its creation was a fluke. In 2005, a German News TV channel N24 interview erroneously translated this famous Star Wars quote. In German, "May the force be with you", was incorrectly interpreted as "We are with you on May 4th". We do believe, that if this error had not occurred, someone, somewhere would have created this day.

"Let's hop back into the Teleportation Tunnel and head out to meet some Star Wars characters," said Periwinkle.  They tumbled out at the Star Wars Galaxy Edge.

"I really like R2D2 and C3PO,"  said Stinky and immediately they spotted them.

A little while later, they spotted C3PO and R2D2 along with Luke and Princess Lei and ran over to look out at the galaxy with them.

"Whoa.....look at those lightsabers.  Do you think we can get one to take home?" asked Stinky.  Periwinkle said she was pretty sure they would not be able to bring them in the Teleportation Tunnel but they could go check them out while they were here.

Stinky said he wondered how many Star Wars movies there were and Periwinkle told him there are 9 movies in the main, episodic Skywalker saga, as well as 2 stand-alone installments, or Star Wars Stories, and 1 TV film, making for a total of 12 Star Wars movies.  

Neither Stinky nor Periwinkle had ever watched a Star Wars movie but they were both hoping to meet Baby Yoda.  Both tabbies squealed with delight when they actually got to meet him!

Periwinkle told Stinky that R2D2 actually spoke English at first but then only talked in his cute beeps and whistles.  The original Yoda was almost a monkey too!  The original actor who played Darth Vadar was also banned from all Star Wars movies and sets.  Stinky was impurressed with all the fun facts Periwinkle knew.

Both tabbies were ready for a snack so they headed to the dining area.  "That guy looks friendly, let's see if we can sit with him," said Stinky.  

Soon it was time to head back to Periwinkle's house.  The two held paws and got back into the Teleportation Tunnel and headed to her house.  They spent a while visiting with Periwinkle's brofur Raz and then sat together and shared whisker kisses and paw pats.  As much as they hated to part, Stinky headed into the Teleportation Tunnel to go home.  As he was leaving he blew her a kiss and she heard him say "May The Fourth Be With You."   She giggled and decided to find a nice sunspot to nap and dream of their next adventure.
