Cat World Domination Day and Friendly Fill-ins

We have LOTS going on today!

Here are a few good ways to show your Domination.

This is how it starts at our house.  We disrupt Mom's usual routine by taking over the bed.  She always makes the bed and we keep her from in.  An extra plus is that we get to take a nap too (after we wake HER up!)  Trust us, mess up her morning routine and she's out of wack all day!!

Occasionally, show the back of Disrespect.  They will wonder what they did wrong, feel guilty and give you TREATS!

If your human has one of those silly "no cats on the table" rules, show them that YOU decide where you sit!

Today is also Cat World Domination Day!

We're always THANKFUL that we know how to Dominate our little world.  Here's an example of two of our favorite ways to show our Domination!  

First, right after your person rounds up all the toys you've gotten under the furniture and refrigerator, IMMEDIATELY put them back and then look sad that you don't have any toys!

Next, when your person is trying to work on something, make sure YOU take over and stop them so you can check things out.  They always really appreciate this!

Cat World Domination Day

Cat World Domination was started by our pal Sparkle.  Even though Sparkle is no longer with us, Summer is continuing the tradition.   From Summer's blog:

"But before I show you the graphic, I wanted to tell you a little bit about the history of Cat World Domination Day. It started in 2012, with this blog’s predecessor, Sparkle. June 24 of that year was her tenth birthday, and my human wanted to do something special for her. So she created a holiday that fit right in with her personality. Because Sparkle was known for her books and advice on how cats can dominate the humans in their lives, Cat World Domination Day only made sense. You can see the blog post for the very first Cat World Domination Day here.

Sparkle actually only celebrated three Cat World Domination Days before she passed away. This will be my fifth, so I’ve already celebrated more of them than Sparkle has."

Sunday Selfies

Remember our Cousin Trooper???

We are happy to say that Mom's friend Charlotte, who adopted Cousin Trooper after Auntie El went to Heaven, adopted two 10 year old sisters.  Charlotte volunteers with Hospice and these two kitties lost their Daddy.  We are pleased to introduce Jackie and Cuddles.  Jackie has the stubby tail and Cuddles has the one that goes on forever.  Jackie and Cuddles are sisters and they were lucky to be adopted together.

We are so happy that these two special girls got a home together!  We promise to show you more of them in the future.

Shopping around the World and Cat World Domination Day

Once again we're pawticipating in Piglove's Shopping Around the World

ITEMS TO PRICE THIS MONTH

This month we received a suggestion from our friends Reilly and Denny with Cowspotdog. This month we are pricing FIVE items from two different stores for price comparisons in your area.  Now, we are going to make this kind of easy.  FIVE items of your choice in making a meal.  Of course, you can use more than FIVE items to make your meal but you have to price comparison shop FIVE items from TWO different stores.  Got it?  And as always, pictures and recipes are greatly appreciated for our viewing pleasure… and of course licking the computer screen – snorts.  Happy shopping my friends.

Here's the recipe:
Jalapeno Popper Chicken:

3 chicken breasts
a sprinkle of cumin (I used about 1/2 tsp)
a sprinkle of chili powder (I used about 1/2 tsp)
a light sprinkle of salt
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 jalapenos, seeded and chopped (we are wimps so we just used 1 but I recommend 3)
4 oz full fat cream cheese
3/4 cup chicken broth
3 slices of bacon, chopped
1 TBSP chopped fresh cilantro (can use 1 tsp dried but I don't recommend)
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Pan fry the bacon until crisp.  Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon but leave grease.  Sprinkle cumin, chili and salt on each side of chicken breasts and pan fry in the bacon grease until cooked through, flipping half way.  Remove chicken and keep warm.      Throw chopped jalapeno and garlic in pan and cook for approximately 2 minutes over medium heat.  Add chicken broth, scraping and deglazing the leftover yummies in the pan.  Add cream cheese and stir in until melted.  Add shredded cheddar and stir until melted.  Add bacon crumbles and cilantro, stirring through for a minute or so.  Spoon sauce over chicken.  Serves 3

Cream Cheese:  Publix....$2.95                             Winn Dixie  $2.99

What Mom thought was interesting is that so many people think Publix is more expensive and she's  ALWAYS thought the quality was better and the prices are too....guess this proves it!!



Today is also Cat World Domination Day (isn't every day?) which was started by our pal Sparkle before she left for the Bridge.  Summer is continuing it!
