The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

 Periwinkle was so excited.  All Tuesdays were special since she and Stinky had Adventures but she hoped this one would be EXTRA special. She has been busy planning a very special birthday celebration for two cats who hold a huge place in her heart — her fiancé, Stinky, and beloved Angel Sawyer. She paced back and forth until she saw the Teleportation Tunnel begin to shake.  One more shake and, with a WOOSH, out flew Stinky!  She ran up to him and hugged him tightly.  They shared whisker kisses and pawpats and snuggled for a while. Smiling, Periwinkle said, "I'm so glad you got here on time since we have a lot to celebrate today."  Stinky gave her a big whisker kiss and smiled since he had an idea about what she planned.  It didn't take her long to hand him his birthday scarf and hat.  Smiling, he said, "I knew you wouldn't forget that tomorrow is my birthday!"

Periwinkle laughed and showed him this...

And, of course, she didn't forget Angel Sawyer!

When Stinky realized she didn't forget Angel Sawyer, he hugged her, and she could see a tear roll down his face.  She hugged him back and reminded him of the great party they had last year with Sawyer.  Click HERE if you missed it.  They both smiled when they remembered how much fun they all had together.  

Periwinkle knew parties were best when there were great noms, so she set out a buffet filled with all kinds of delicious goodies. She knew Angel Sawyer was there in spirit and felt like she could see him with his beautiful wings and bright halo.

"You sure outdid yourself with this buffet," said Stinky.  Periwinkle was pleased that he liked it and told him to save room for cake since she had Cooper Murphy bake a special one for the party.

Before they cut the cake, Periwinkle sang Happy Birthday!

The tabbies snacked on the buffet and some cake.  While they were finishing up, Periwinkle said there was another birthday coming up on Saturday. "Can you believe it, Stinky? America is turning 250 years old!"  Stinky said, “Two hundred and fifty? That's a LOT of birthdays! Even more than a cat's nine lives put together!" Periwinkle continued, "It sure is! This year we're celebrating 250 years since our country declared its independence in 1776. It's a time to remember the people who helped build our country and all those who have protected our freedoms over the years."

Stinky thought for a while and said, "I think we should celebrate with gratitude."

 Periwinkle said, “I agree. And maybe a few treats."  Stinky laughed and said, "I was hoping you'd say that." They both giggled and shared a whisker kiss. Periwinkle reminded him that Saturday night they would watch the fireworks and celebrate America's 250th birthday adding that she and her fursibs and Mom watch the Macy’s fireworks on TV and hope the local boomies aren’t too loud.  She pointed out where Huggy Cat was waiting to help Noelle get through the scary stuff.

Stinky saw that Periwinkle's Mom had a 4th of July flag out and stopped to see it and all the fun kitties in her front yard.  He really liked watching the big ginger cat on the bike, which reminded him of his brofurs Cooper Murphy and Raleigh and their pal Teddy.

The tabbies sat together, paws touching, thinking of the pawsome display they would see, and both said, "Happy 250th Birthday, America!"  

More snuggles and whisker kisses followed until it was time for Stinky to leave for home.  He thanked Periwinkle's Mom and fursibs for their part in the special celebration and hugged Periwinkle tightly, telling her how much he loved her and how much he appreciated all she did for his birthday.  One more whisker kiss and he got into the Teleportation Tunnel and headed home.  Periwinkle decided to have another piece of birthday cake and then take a short nap to dream of her handsome fiancé.

The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

 

Periwinkle paced back and forth in front of the Teleporation Tunnel.  She hoped Stinky remembered everything he was bringing and that he would arrive quietly.

With the familiar WOOSH, he stumbled out of the tunnel carefully balancing the items he brought with him.  "Thank COD the WOOSH was quiet," he said.  Periwinkle agreed and tip-toed over to help him with his things. "Does she suspect?" he asked.   Periwinkle said she was sure that they had done a great job with their secret.   She put her paw to her lips and quietly pointed to the cat tree.

The two moved to the other room and Periwinkle helped Stinky with his bag.  Periwinkle was sure that Reesie would never suspect what they were doing.  Since Stinky only came to her house on Tuesdays, they were celebrating Reesie's birthday one day early so they could both be there.

He handed Periwinkle a box which she carefully put on the table.  He said "Cooper Murphy sent this cake"   Periwinkle peeked inside and said it was beautiful and how impurressed she was by his skills.  "Mauricio sure was a great teacher," said Stinky. They kept the cake in the box until it was time to have it. Next, they hung up a banner in the dining room...

And set the party table...

They finished just as Reesie woke up from her nap.  Needless to say, she was surprised and thrilled that Periwinkle and Stinky would do all of this for her!  Periwinkle gave Reesie a party hat and started to put out the noms.

They had tuna cocktails...

Periwinkle and Stinky giggled when they saw the "hairball" nip covered treats!

Finally, they unboxed the cake that Cooper Murphy made for Reesie.

They all Ooohed and ahhed at how beautiful the cake was and how purrfect it was for Reesie.

Periwinkle arranged for a band to come by and play happy birthday for Reesie.

The band played a few other songs before they left. Periwinkle and Stinky took the opportunity to dance. Gentleman that he is, Stinky also danced with Reesie.  Periwinkle's fursib Raz danced with Reesie and then with Perwinkle.

After a while, they were all tired and decided it was time to rest.  Periwinkle and Stinky brought a present for Reesie.  "Since you don't like regular treats, we brought you a package of Squeezies because we know you like them a lot" said Stinky.

Reesie thanked them and told them how much she enjoyed her party.  She said they were a sweet and cute couple which made them both smile and blush.  Reesie decided to have her squeezies in the winter scratcher house and Periwinkle and Stinky went outside to have some alone time and enjoy their own treats.

"I think we did a good job with Reesie's party today.  I am sure she was surprised and she appreciated everything we did" said Stinky.  Periwinkle told him she couldn't have done it alone and was so lucky to have such a helpful (and handsome) boyfriend.

After their snacks, the two settled in for a quick nap. They shared paw pats and whisker kisses and quickly fell asleep.   When they woke up it was time for Stinky to head home. Once again, he wished Reesie a happy birthday.  Blowing a kiss to Perwinkle, he stepped into the Teleportation Tunnel and headed home.

Periwinkle decided to find a sun puddle and dream of her next adventure with her special boyfriend.

Happy Birthday Noelle and Periwinkle

 Can you believe our sweet little Noelle/Periwinkle is FOUR?  It seems like just yesterday she came to live with us.   We don't know the actual date of Noelle/Periwinkle's birthday but picked September 1.

Noelle says "Mom tried to get me to wear this STUPID really cute birthday hat but, unlike our pal Summer, I am not into modeling!"

Periwinkle had no problems wearing a birthday hat!  

Periwinkle was thrilled to get this great card and fabulous lizard cake from Stinky.

Noelle loved the card and cake Sawyer sent her.  Periwinkle and Noelle are so lucky to have such great boyfriends!

Look at this great card from Angel Timmy, Dad Pete and family.  That was so nice of them!

Now....let's PARTY!!!

Happy Gotcha Day to Raz

Today is a very special day at our house!  It's Raz's first Gotcha Day!!! Over the last year, Raz has brought so much happiness to our family.  We love him a lot and we're really glad he became one of the Florida Furkids. Here's the first post we ever did about RAZ.
