Periwinkle was excited because today was Tuesday and Stinky would be arriving through the Teleportation Tunnel soon. She didn't have long to wait because she saw the Tunnel start to shake and the familiar WOOSH and Stinky came tumbling into her paws. They spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting and catching up on the last week. Eventually, Stinky looked around and gasped.
"OH MY COD" did you make this mess?"
Periwinkle giggled and said no, she did not make the mess, and that was what they were doing today. "Mom said we could help put up the Halloween decorations," she told him. Relieved that Periwinkle wasn't in trouble, Stinky happily followed her lead putting up decorations.
The first thing Stinky did was jump on the divider to see the GIANT spider. "Geesh, I know it's Florida but doesn't your Mom have a pest control company? This guy is a monster" Both tabbies laughed because they knew the spider wasn't real.
From there, Stinky arranged the black cats in the living room. They both talked about how they were looking forward to their annual visit with Walter and the Black Cats.
As always, Stinky had to climb up high and, this time, he went up on the china cabinet to put up the sparkly pumpkins. Periwinkle appreciated his help but always worried when he climbed up on things.
While Stinky was finishing up the pumpkins, Periwinkle went to the little coffee area where her Daddy's photo was and put some decorations there. She never knew her Daddy but Raz told her all about him. Periwinkle told Stinky that every morning her mother gives the photo a kiss and says "Good Morning" to him.
While they were in the kitchen they checked out the Ghost Raz made at Cat Scouts. They also admired the spider and web he made last year.
They stopped to admire the Sugar Skull (Day of the Dead) Cat blanket that Periwinkle's Mom bought earlier in the month...
and then Stinky put out the other Day of the Dead kitties and a few others. "The Day of the Dead kitty to your right was one Mom saw on our pal Mudpie's Mom's Facebook page and Mom rushed out to get us one after Mudpie's Mom told her where she got it.
"Let's work on the fireplace next," said Periwinkle. Stinky agreed since it was a big job and they needed to work together. The two always enjoyed doing things together. "I think it turned out great" said Stinky and Periwinkle agreed.
All of a sudden Periwinkle couldn't find Stinky anywhere. Of course, she always was on alert because he had a habit of going where he shouldn't. She let out a big sigh of relief when she saw him up on the entertainment center hiding among the stuffies! "MOL I didn't think you would find me" laughed Stinky. Periwinkle rolled her eyes and Stinky came down quickly.
Paw in paw, they headed outside to put up the big metal cats. They had to work together because the big one was heavy.
Back in the house, Periwinkle's Mom turned the lights on and closed the blinds so they could see what the decorations looked like at night. Periwinkle's fursibs Reesie and Raz joined them for a photo.
After spending some time whisker kissing and paw patting in front of the fireplace, both tabbies were ready for a snack. They decided to stay indoors and enjoy their snack at the dining room table.
Time passes quickly when they are together and it was time for Stinky to head home. "I had fun helping you decorate today. You're so talented" said Stinky. Periwinkle blushed and thanked him for his help. "Thank you for staying out of trouble (mostly) today too," said Periwinkle. With a flurry of whisker kisses and paw pats, Stinky got back into the Teleportation Tunnel and headed home.
Periwinkle headed back by the fireplace to enjoy the decorations and think of her handsome boyfriend.
