The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

It was Tuesday morning and Periwinkle was snoozing in a sunpuddle.  WHAT???? WAIT....Did she forget it's Tuesday????????????????

Don't panic!  Something special was going on over the weekend so Stinky came a few days early for their Adventure!!!    Let's take a trip back in time (since the Teleportation Tunnel lets us do that) to see what they did.

Early SUNDAY morning, Periwinkle sat by the Teleportation Tunnel waiting for her boyfriend, Stinky to arrive.  She hoped he didn't forget since it was not their normal day but her fears were calmed when the tunnel began to shake and, with a WOOSH, he popped out into her waiting paws.  They spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting and he finally asked why he was there on a different day.

"We had such a nice time last week when we visited Assisi (click HERE if you missed it), I thought we should take it one step further and actually go to a blessing of the pets.  Stinky agreed that it was a good idea.  Periwinkle explained that the blessing would be virtual with only photos of pets in the Church but that, as cartoon cats, they would be able to attend.

They got to Church early so they could take a photo with the pictures of Noelle and Reesie.

They both agreed that it was nice to be part of the Blessing along with the pets of others in the congregation.

When they returned to Periwinkle's house, she asked Stinky if he would like to help put up the Halloween decorations.  Always ready to help, he said yes and they started decorating.

They opened the box with placemats and towels...

Stinky headed right to the kitchen to put out the towels and placemats...

Periwinkle did the bathroom...

They put the cat face lights and ghosts on the entertainment center...

And the big (scary) spider...

And the big black cat...

Stinky hopped up on the divider to put the cute black cat on the corner...

They both put the Halloween throw on the loveseat...they giggled at the word "loveseat" and stopped for a minute to whisker kiss...

When they were done decorating, they took a quick nap together in the Halloween scratcher house...

When they woke up, Stinky visited with Periwinkle's fursibs for a little while.  Before he got in the Teleportation Tunnel Periwinkle said she had one more thing to remind him about.  "This is Fire Prevention Week so I wanted us to watch a video by Sparky the Firedog and let our friends know they can click HERE for more information on Fire Prevention Week."

Finally, it was time for Stinky to return home.  After more paw pats and whisker kisses, he hopped into the Teleportation Tunnel, blew one more kiss and, with a WOOSH, headed home.

The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Periwinkle was excited because today was Tuesday and Stinky would be arriving through the Teleportation Tunnel soon.  She didn't have long to wait because she saw the Tunnel start to shake and the familiar WOOSH and Stinky came tumbling into her paws.  They spent some time whisker kissing and paw patting and catching up on the last week.  Eventually, Stinky looked around and gasped.
"OH MY COD" did you make this mess?"

Periwinkle giggled and said no, she did not make the mess, and that was what they were doing today.  "Mom said we could help put up the Halloween decorations," she told him.  Relieved that Periwinkle wasn't in trouble, Stinky happily followed her lead putting up decorations.

The first thing Stinky did was jump on the divider to see the GIANT spider.  "Geesh, I know it's Florida but doesn't your Mom have a pest control company?  This guy is a monster"  Both tabbies laughed because they knew the spider wasn't real.

From there, Stinky arranged the black cats in the living room.  They both talked about how they were looking forward to their annual visit with Walter and the Black Cats.

As always, Stinky had to climb up high and, this time, he went up on the china cabinet to put up the sparkly pumpkins.  Periwinkle appreciated his help but always worried when he climbed up on things.

While Stinky was finishing up the pumpkins, Periwinkle went to the little coffee area where her Daddy's photo was and put some decorations there.  She never knew her Daddy but Raz told her all about him.  Periwinkle told Stinky that every morning her mother gives the photo a kiss and says "Good Morning" to him.

While they were in the kitchen they checked out the Ghost Raz made at Cat Scouts.  They also admired the spider and web he made last year.

They stopped to admire the Sugar Skull (Day of the Dead)  Cat blanket that Periwinkle's Mom bought earlier in the month...

and then Stinky put out the other Day of the Dead kitties and a few others.  "The Day of the Dead kitty to your right was one Mom saw on our pal Mudpie's Mom's Facebook page and Mom rushed out to get us one after Mudpie's Mom told her where she got it.

"Let's work on the fireplace next," said Periwinkle.  Stinky agreed since it was a big job and they needed to work together.  The two always enjoyed doing things together.  "I think it turned out great" said Stinky and Periwinkle agreed.

All of a sudden Periwinkle couldn't find Stinky anywhere.  Of course, she always was on alert because he had a habit of going where he shouldn't.  She let out a big sigh of relief when she saw him up on the entertainment center hiding among the stuffies!  "MOL I didn't think you would find me" laughed Stinky.  Periwinkle rolled her eyes and Stinky came down quickly.

Paw in paw, they headed outside to put up the big metal cats.  They had to work together because the big one was heavy.

Back in the house, Periwinkle's Mom turned the lights on and closed the blinds so they could see what the decorations looked like at night.  Periwinkle's fursibs Reesie and Raz joined them for a photo.

After spending some time whisker kissing and paw patting in front of the fireplace, both tabbies were ready for a snack.  They decided to stay indoors and enjoy their snack at the dining room table.

Time passes quickly when they are together and it was time for Stinky to head home.  "I had fun helping you decorate today.  You're so talented" said Stinky.  Periwinkle blushed and thanked him for his help.  "Thank you for staying out of trouble (mostly) today too," said Periwinkle.   With a flurry of whisker kisses and paw pats, Stinky got back into the Teleportation Tunnel and headed home.

Periwinkle headed back by the fireplace to enjoy the decorations and think of her handsome boyfriend.

The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

Periwinkle was so excited.   It was Tuesday and she was going to see her boyfriend, Stinky!  She paced back and forth and put her ear to the Teleportation Tunnel.  Stinky was very punctual and right when he was supposed to arrive, she heard the familiar WOOOSH.  Stinky tumbled out of the tunnel and flew into her welcoming paws.  The tabbies giggled, shared paw pats, headbonks, and whisker kisses.

Stinky looked around the room and gave Periwinkle a surprised look.  "Periwinkle, did you do this?  There's Halloween stuff all over the place."

Periwinkle laughed and said her Mom took out the Halloween things.  "I thought it would be fun for us to decorate together," said Periwinkle.  "Mom doesn't usually decorate this early but thought we could all use something to make us smile."

"COOL BEANS," said Stinky.  This is going to be fun!  The two tabbies got right to work with the decorating.  The first thing they did was put out the solar lights to get a good charge on them.

While the lights charged, Periwinkle and Stinky started decorating the fireplace.  They had fun with the lights and Periwinkle got tangled in them.  Stinky helped her get untangled and the two giggled and shared whisker kisses.  Finally, they were happy with their accomplishment.

Next, they put out Auntie El's nutcracker.  Periwinkle said she never knew Auntie El but Angel Allie and Raz had told her how she and Mom were best friends.  "Periwinkle, are we allowed on the table?" asked Stinky.  Periwinkle replied that they were not BUT they were cats and looked cute so her Mom never got mad when they went up there.

"WHOA, this is pretty high," said Stinky.  Periwinkle agreed and wondered if anyone would be able to see them in with the black cats.  "I sure hope we can go back and visit Walter and the black cats this year," said Periwinkle.  Stinky agreed that it was fun meeting them and he hoped they could visit again.

After setting out the lights on the divider, the tabbies put out the big lighted cat and his friends.

One more big cat and a HUGE spider went in the living room.

"Stinky, you are so brave to stand by that big spider," said Periwinkle.  "It is a bit scary but I'm okay" he replied.  As always, Stinky blushed when Periwinkle told him he was brave.  Her opinion of him was very important to him.

All the decorating made them both hungry so they had a snack of Temptations and Fancy Feast on the back deck.

On the way back into the house, they got the solar lights and brought them inside.  Periwinkle's Mom made sure it was dark enough for them to be able to see them since Stinky couldn't stay until nighttime.

After visiting with Noelle and Raz and Periwinkle's Mom, it was time for Stinky to get back in the Teleportation Tunnel to return home.  They shared more whisker kisses and paw pats before he had to leave.  Stinky hopped into the tunnel and with a WOOOSH, he was on his way home.  Periwinkle wiped a tear and settled in for another nap to dream about her sweet boyfriend and their next adventure.

Sunday Selfies

We're pawticipating in The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies today.

Mom has been decorating for Halloween and this guy is a newcomer to our family.  He asked if he could take a selfie before he started his official Halloween duties so we let him.

After his selfie, he took his place with the other Halloween decorations by the fireplace.  He's very well behaved.
